Where do they find these guys? From what I've seen and heard from your build, if I were you I would be getting an independent qualified inspector on board to do periodic inspections and reports. This can affect the structural integrity of the concrete but also allows moisture and air to get in to the steel reinforcing, causing it to corrode and weaken. Worth getting an expert's advice I think. That looks suspiciously similar to sections of our slab. Hopefully I will have more concrete (pun fully intended) news tomorrow or Friday regarding ours. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3672Mar 10, 2016 7:45 am I think you must be cursed MrsJM. Did you do terrible things in a previous life!? Try not to worry too much (I was just the same as you, stressed out big time over cracks and damage) - your inspector will let you know about any issues that you should be genuinely concerned about, which in our case were significant enough to delay the build by three weeks (ffs lol!). But, any problems will get resolved, promise. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3673Mar 10, 2016 10:20 am Question for those in their house for a while. Did Coral cover the power charges from site scrape to hand over? I was advised twice by SS, not in writing through, Coral covers it when i questioned them after finding the air con left over over night a couple of times. Seems AGL has carried the charges forward and not sure if I should push back. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3674Mar 10, 2016 10:25 am Gunna Question for those in their house for a while. Seems AGL has carried the charges forward and not sure if I should push back. Nope, not covered for us. We had a $600 power bill to pay before we'd even moved in. I raised it with HO and they basically said check your contract, it states that electricity is the responsibility of the owner. Nice little surprise! I didn't appreciate the call I got from AGL to set up a gas account.... no warning from Coral... I was like ummmm what? Who told you to call? No choice of supplier, nothing. I don't believe I even HAVE an electricity account at the moment... so that would be interesting. Our account wasn't set up until hand over and I need a national meter number from Coral before I could get one set up. The balance was bought forward so all charges for carried forward to this bill. Re: Coral Homes general build thread 3680Mar 10, 2016 4:17 pm Oh Mrs that sux!! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 15077 Hi so sorry for the late reply.
