We used the Tile Doctor. Ben is his name. $35 per sqm we paid plus glue (which I think was $40 a bag and we needed 8 bags) we were stoked with the price. They completed it in 3 days. 4 tiles I wasn't happy with so they took them up and replaced them. Otherwise very happy with everything else. Our dream home viewtopic.php?t=75306 8 bags? I hope I only need that many he emailed saying I need 35 20kg bags of adhesive! Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 369Dec 02, 2015 10:29 pm Mine was about 25 bags for 90sqm, just for comparison Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 370Dec 03, 2015 9:17 am I think i have it wrong with 8 bags. I honestly can't remember. But I know whatever it was we had heaps of unopened bags left over so he just took it off our bill. I can't remember the name of the glue we picked but Ben gives you 4 different options. We went with the middle of the range $40 a bag of glue. Keep in mind when you have tiles to get a perfect finish and less cuts its best to get skirting done. This cost us $2500 through skirting innovations and his work was perfect. A little slower than we liked but his joins and cuts were flawless. He quoted me $35 labour. lippage is a pain if you have porcelain tile. Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 373Dec 03, 2015 2:33 pm No lippage. We had 4 that had some lippage so I asked him to replace them which he did with no hesitation. I would say they are 100% level, my partner checked all that. For $35 per sqm I am happy. We were getting quotes of double that. We have 1mm grout lines Our dream home viewtopic.php?t=75306 Building our first home - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75306 Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 375Dec 03, 2015 3:19 pm These trades should be grateful for this forum lol Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 376Dec 03, 2015 4:29 pm Natalie your welcome to come and have a look at my flooring when I'm home. Natalie92 Icy water I am also going to use tile doctor that Cara used he has been the most helpful so far and cheapest Good to know. I probably get him to supply the glue, because the lady that did tile calculation only put 1 bag 20kg on my order lol. Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 378Dec 03, 2015 8:53 pm Hey guys also check out quality affordable tiles in Malaga. They quoted $39sqm to lay and can provide tiles glue grout and edging. For the whole house was just over 10k which is the cheapest quote for everything so far thinking of getting everything there and then get Ben from tile dr to lay She quoted 34 bags of 20kg glue so gunna guess Ben was correct with the 35 bags Re: Cara and Matt's First Build - Baldivis 379Dec 03, 2015 9:05 pm We got our house valuation from the bank back today.
