I've seen the photos of his place, and it came up really really good. He has a very steep back and front yards, so they had to create a combination of retaining walls, garden beds and levelled out areas. They also did his driveway too in exposed aggregate. We got a quote off them for my driveway and decking, but they were quite expensive compared to other quotes we had, so we didn't end up going ahead with them. Mike and Jen How much was the difference ? Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 364Oct 18, 2012 8:20 pm J & C How much was the difference ? The difference was about 50% more on top of the quotes we ended up going with. We did not get any quotes on the landscaping, just the concreting and decking. Dan (Sherro) how did you guys go? Did you end up picking up your keys last week? Mike and Jen man that is one of the quickest builds in history....well done how many days? Thanks Grant, your build looks like it going very well too. Your house is huge!!!!!!!!! Our build too just under 4 months Our original site manager (we had a change in site managers about 75% through our build) did tell us that a single storey house should only take 4 months to build. Double storeys are a little longer, I think he said 6 months, mainly because of the brick layers. Judging by the other houses going up in our estate, the timeline sounds about right. Really worried about having it with some other SS and that the whole handover process will drag on Building the Carlisle Sienna 31 at Somerfield Lot 1550 Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 372Nov 02, 2012 4:02 pm Jen06 While our SS is on Annual leave,( It might be easier cause a new SS will have brand new pair of eyes and they might agree with you quicker. Cause it's not their work you are judging. Are you using new homes again? Slab finished 28/08/2012 Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 373Nov 03, 2012 10:48 am We have internet and foxtel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jen06, we changed our ss half way through out build, and it didn't set us back much, probably 1 week or so. So long as your new ss is on the ball, you guys should be fine. PCI already, wow, only a few weeks few now to handover How is everyone else going with their build?? Mike and Jen Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 374Nov 03, 2012 11:15 am Mikeyz32 How is everyone else going with their build?? Mike and Jen Look out your window! Our SS asked us to let you know that they would be starting brickas in the next week or two and being on our shared boundary they will need to stand on parts of your land. He said they'll cover it to keep it as clean as possible though. Craig and Mika and Zara (3) Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 376Nov 03, 2012 8:02 pm Great so hear a few of you moving in. Getting the neighbourhood ready. Slab finished 28/08/2012 Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 378Nov 04, 2012 8:40 am Well our normal SS will only be away for one week so he will be looking after anything that needs fixing. I guess fresh eyes is a good way to look at it Building the Carlisle Sienna 31 at Somerfield Lot 1550 Re: Somerfield Keysborough Stage 15ers 379Nov 06, 2012 1:45 pm phone, foxtel, gas electricity all good just got a couple plumbing issues but nothing serious. Word of advice, worthless washing exterior of your car unless you are using garage which I will start doing. lol. The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn. Just the way it is. 1 9357 1 4960 Thanks for much mate. I see that you do cabinets before flooring. For timber flooring, for most parts it's fine because it's got base plates, and for door jabs you can… 7 13742 |
