The updates have been fantastic as we've been too busy enjoying our new beautiful baby girl to worry about the house or estate! She surprised us with a Sat morning arrival instead of tomorrow. My husband did happen to drive by yesterday though as they were pouring the concrete and was super excited. Almost tempted to take bubs out of hospital on a field trip Hopefully with that hurdle over things will move along quickly. Our SS did say he had already organised things with the framers so fingers crossed it starts next week! Better run, still in hospital. Thank you for all the warm wishes and vibes. Obviously helped Good luck to all your individual battles. http://glenn-and-denhs-tribeca.blogspot.com/ Handover: Thurs 9th June!!! Fixing: forever and ever and ever...... She must be gorgeous – enjoy the early days, you know how quick they fly by. Hope to bump into you at the estate, a little later down the track of course. SK – will come over and say hi if I ever see you there. Pretty sure there was someone on your block – wonder who it was? Big wins - the developer has agreed to build another fence on the inside of the existing one at their own cost!! I’m thrilled, it might look ridiculous but it addresses the safety and privacy issue and that’s good enough… *doing a happy dance* Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 363Sep 15, 2010 3:07 pm Fantastic News DGM, Congratulations!!! Bit strange. I thought both mine and the next door one were 20m wide... Sounds like they may have been trying to figure out where the block ended. The white painted stick out the front should have been a giveaway. Time will tell. Today is the last day for the "new" advertising period. Hopefully a permit not far away. They started on our frame today. We had no idea as our SS is actually on holidays for a week and the works been managed by his boss whom we don't have direct contact with. We were surprised to see guys working on it this morning but was stunned to see the bottom floor almost complete when we drove by later in the night. Can't wait for a daylight visit tomorrow. Could we have mistaken another block for ours? Surely not Welcome back Amz and Sean. 30C everyday hey? So jealous. Hope you brought some back for us. 6-7 weeks will fly by and you'll be able to enjoy all your hard work. How very exciting! Eskay, good luck with your approval. Hopefully you'll get some good news next week. http://glenn-and-denhs-tribeca.blogspot.com/ Handover: Thurs 9th June!!! Fixing: forever and ever and ever...... Couldn't help ourselves, we went for another look at our dirt today. DGM - Fantastic progress with the slab and first floor frame up!! Hope you and baby girl are well and resting. By the way, does little one have a name?? We drove around and lots of places are really very close. NBJL, we had a good old sticky beak around your place now that the fences are down... Hope you don't mind?? It looks brilliant. The other two along side of you do too. Many lots now benched or dug in. Looks like we'll have most of Norris Cct done before we get ours up. Stay happy everyone and keep us updated!! Great news also to hear that your first floor frame is already up. We are going to have a drive through the estate today so we'll have to check it out. Karmaz - thanks for the update on our driveway, we haven't actually seen it yet so we'll have to have a good look today. That was really the only thing left to do on our house (besides installing the oven) so hopefully our final inspection will go ahead this week. We're glad you like the colour scheme, it was really hard making all the colour selections etc in our 3 hours selection meeting but we are really happy with how it has turned out. Your first floor frame is looking good, hopefully the rest of your frame goes up this week. Eskay - No probs at all about having a look at our place, we're glad you like it! Good luck with your permit this week, hope it comes through. Have a great weekend everyone NBJL Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 372Sep 19, 2010 11:11 am Amz - great news! You'll be in before you know it and then you and NBJL can be our inside sources of info! Sounds like you had a great holiday too - happy anniversary to you! DGM - hows the little one doing? You do have a frame, we drove past yesterday and I was amazed to see the progress on your block - your frame is really looking good. M seem to making up time pretty quickly SK - hope your permits come through soon, you have been incredibly patient through the whole thing. Time for things to start moving along on your block now..... NBJL - was that you at your block yesterday in a black VW? Just wondering! Have you had a chance to meet your neighbours in the Simmonds? I think there's a family with young ones in the Bluewater, but haven't ever seen anyone except tradies in the Simmonds. As for us, second storey of the frame is up on schedule. I think the last bits and pieces will be in place tomorrow. This week it will be fascia and gutters and the roof is supposed to go up by the end of the month. Our SS is pretty good at keeping us posted and am quite happy with that. PD stuffed up on the bi-fold doors but I must say they fix their stuff ups which is good enough. I've booked 'Building Watchdog' for an independent inspection on 5/10/10 - lets see what they say. Lovely to see so much progress around, so many sites have started and I think the road at Amy's end has been opened up too. I'd like to see a bit more landscaping, but I guess that will come in time. Here's to more sunshine! Our little one, Evelyn Grace, is doing great. Keeping us busy of course as she learns the ropes of the world outside mum and that 12-3am is NOT party time. Here's some photos on my other blog if you, like me, cannot resist a newborn http://www.denhlay.com/blog/2010/09/evelyn-grace/ Managed a visit to the estate with both kids sleeping in the car. So much happening and so excited at the tiniest change to our block. "Oooh, they moved that pile of timber, wonder what that means?" The 3 houses along NBJLs are looking so close to completion. We have met the family that own the far left one, Bluewater. Lovely couple with 2 young kids (3-5yrs old at a guess?) We also saw a black Mazda about our area. Appeared to be checking out Lot 109. They had a toddler though not a teenage girl as Karmaz saw. Karmaz, Great job on the fence! Any win with the developer is worth a happy dance Eskay, Any news on your permit? What a cutie....you must be so proud!! How has your older one taken to her? Drove past your block today and your frame on the second storey is up as well & looking good. SK - any news? We were thrilled (and very surprised) - when we drove past today we saw the roof has been completed and the house has been wrapped as well! Fantastic that - and the SS told us that brickies have been booked for next week. Had a good look around and am starting to get a feel for what the house will be like. Happy times! Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 378Sep 23, 2010 11:15 pm That's great to hear karmaz - may have to go have another stickybeak soon. Well, I finally called the council again to find out why we hadn't heard anything about our Planning Permit. After much "I'll just go check with..." They tell me it was sent out last Thursday.... So where is it. Hmmm... "sorry, just let me check again with someone else..." Oh, I can't seem to find that file. Let me see if so-and-so has it.......AH here it is, the copy of the permit is here...no...wait...this is the original...for some reason it hasn't been signed but it was approved last Thursday....I'll see if the boss can sign it now....Can we mail it to you tomorrow...what's that??? scan and email...??? I think we can do that..." I now have a scanned copy of the Planning Permit saying I can go ahead and build on a maximum of 51% of the site. Yes, I'm very happy!! Now I put that together with the Tree removal Permit, the Colour Board, the new plans with the garage set back a further 500mm and give it all to Australand for final Developers Approval. I don't expect that to take too long. In the meantime, of course, I also have to go back to the bank and check to see if we are approved for the loan as it's been a long time since the pre-approvals were given. The cost of the house has ballooned somewhat so we have to go through all of the approvals again. Time has not been kind to us. Right now it's a big sigh of relief as I think that was the biggest hurdle we needed to get over. I'll tackle the bank next week. Hope everyone is doing well and seeing progress. Talk to you all soon.
