When we had major issues with our slab, we withheld the invoice payment until all defects were rectified. We are also using Darbecca for final inspection and will require all report items to be rectified prior to handover taking place. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3530Feb 10, 2016 11:40 am Hi all Can anyone please shed some light on the process of getting a home and land package through Homebuyers Centre VIC? I am a little confused regarding the $3,000.00 deposit option, I have seen mixed options - such as you still to have the 5% buy the time the title comes around, is this correct? My partner and I have roughly $12,000.00 in savings and would be able to afford mortgage repayments, is this a possible option for us? I am just so lost on where to begin - I have spoken to a consultant at HBC and am in the middle of filling out the form for Resolve finance's assessment. Has anyone gone through resolve? Are they reliable? Sorry am just new to the whole buying house and land through a company!! Many thanks Allison Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3531Feb 10, 2016 11:44 am Look on page 175 because someone else asked about the $3k Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3532Feb 10, 2016 11:51 am Alleypally Look on page 175 because someone else asked about the $3k Thank you!! Sorry - I should have read through to check. What exactly is the land settlement? (Like once we have our keys handed over to us? or once the building has begun?) Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3533Feb 10, 2016 11:53 am You'll also find a section where we speak about Resolve. We used CUA for our loan. They are great Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3534Feb 10, 2016 11:55 am Land settlement is when the land is yours. So once it titles you have 2 weeks to settle (pay). But you have to have the 5% deposit when you apply for the mortgage. In my daughters case it was February even though the land does not title to April. They applied early because they are going away on holiday for a month Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3537Feb 10, 2016 12:30 pm Allison1 Thanks Alleypally! At what stage does the mortgage application occur? Will it be in the initial meeting we have with HBC or further down the track? My daughter didn't go through HBC finance people because they wanted to do a credit check straight away and my daughter said no I don't want any unnecessary credit checks done so she went with someone else for finance. It depends on the mortgage adviser, but think it's normally 2 months before your due to title. In my case it was 4 months before, we was supposed to title in August so got approved by the bank in June but our titles got delayed till November Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3538Feb 13, 2016 3:10 pm OK I have a question about my wall... It has what appears to be a lump, it's not even anyway and by a fair bit. It's right up the top. I spoke to SS and got the 'it's fine, we will just float it before we paint..' response. I don't feel happy with that all. I don't know if I should be picky or just let it go and hope it will be fine. Advice please, happy to be told yep it's fine if it is [img]/img] [imghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k489/jaxcook/wall1_zpsoiwuo9tc.jpg[/img] [img]/img] Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3539Feb 13, 2016 3:11 pm I put three pics but I can only see one.. not sure why I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be.
