Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3482Jul 02, 2013 9:49 am Snuck through the house this morning - such benefits for my work to be moving to less than 5 mins from my house. Our SS had gone through yesterday and put his blue stickers everywhere on paint touchups that were required. Painters are back this morning fixing everything up. The cleaner started yesterday - and did the kitchen first. Finally the protective stickers have been peeled off the cupboards - they look so much better than they did before The cupboards are the sheen, and were $670.00 to upgrade from the standard - a bargain really. Just spoke with the splashback people and the glass splashback is ready to go in Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3483Jul 02, 2013 10:09 am Lookin' good! Our bench-top never ended up getting a covering of bubble wrap or anything else... Should be OK though, Caesarstone is pretty hard wearing - and there hasn't been too much stuff gone on top of it. Your contract states that Rawson have 20 working days to get to site once the Construction Certificate has been issued. If they are not on site by this date your contracted build time starts anyway. Love that kitchen design - was it much more to add all those drawers? We're meant to have our tender presentation next week....how long before we get to Ebla? http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3487Jul 02, 2013 2:36 pm Quote: Love that kitchen design - was it much more to add all those drawers? We're meant to have our tender presentation next week....how long before we get to Ebla? The drawers are $250.00 per bank of drawers. We have 5 sets of additional drawers so the cost was $1,250.00. We also increased the size of the cutlery set of drawers from 550mm (which is standard) to 950mm and it was $200.00 You do your kitchen when you do your colour appointment. I drew up the kitchen configuration that I wanted including dimensions and brought it with me to my colour appointment. My kitchen was made up according to my drawings. DH met with SS this morning to go over the tiling. They have agreed what will be replaced. Tomorrow morning our SS, the tilers and the supervisor from Tile Direct will be meeting on site to go all through it to make sure everyone is on the same page. We are being finicky with the tiles, but we are paying a lot for this house and really happy that Rawson expects that the tradies they use do a good job and that the ones we are not happy with will be replaced. Now off to book in the aerial install. $380.00 is the best I can find - we have to have a booster installed with the aerial as we have 7 tv points in the house - apparently this is not normal. I think the standard when talking to most antenna installers is 3-4. Our place has 4, bed1, tv theatre, family area and study area. We had our kitchen appointment separate to our colour appointment as we went through DeGabrielle Kitchens. We were told they use DeGabrielle for knock-down rebuilds and Elba for new estate builds. In our separate appointment I brought my own drawings based off the dimensions of the plans and stated all the drawers, positions of appliances, etc. Then we had a 3d and various facing plan drawn up and agreed before we had the quote done. On a progress note, our land was a bit too wet from the downpour over the last 2 weeks to do a driveway pour today, so it has been put off until Thursday this week. Should be sunny all week so should be no problems with then. Hooray! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3489Jul 02, 2013 4:00 pm Your kitchen looks amazing Jen, love all the pot draws you put in. We added extra pot draws to our kitchen as well but after seeing yours I'm wishing I added a few more. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3490Jul 02, 2013 4:24 pm Quote: OMG 7 TV points Jen, that is crazy! We have 2 in the open area near the kitchen - one is for where the pool table is going, the other one is for the main seating area. We have one in the 5th bedroom as my FIL is going to stay with us for an extended period as he is moving out from England. One in the home theatre, one outside for the alfresco and two upstairs. My boss is building his house and he has a lot more than that, one in every room, so I feel better. Quote: Your kitchen looks amazing Jen, love all the pot draws you put in. DH didnt want pot drawers and thought the idea was silly. I am glad I won out on that debate.
