We got the same comment from the guy who did our 3-month inspection back in September. We barely had cracks and the ones that exist are hardly noticeable. We also did concreting the entire perimeter of the house. Building Pagoda 31 MkII 28/11/11 - Tender 20/12/11 - Contract Signed 12/06/12 - Settlement Now on to never-ending post handover activities! I enlisted the services of a building inspector at lock up stage who identified a number of breaches of building codes and standards. Carlisle Homes have refused to rectify these and construction has progressed past the point were they can be easily fixed. I had an onsite meeting yesterday with my site supervisor and construction manager and was told by them to contact the Building Commission as they were not going to rectify their defects. This was just a kick in the guts given everything I have been promised by them and all the money I have paid them in good faith. The main issue concerns the construction of a bulkhead above the kitchen which is improperly fixed to the frame and could result in movement and subsequent plaster cracks. Some cracks have appeared in the laundry bulkhead, as a result of non compliance. Carlisle Homes promised to provide a report on the frame expressly addressing this, which has since been completed and does not address the concerns in the inspectors report. This is what prompted the site meeting. Apart from this I also have a number of other issues concerning poor quality construction work which Carlisle Homes are refusing to acknowledge. They deny my requests for rectification even when I present them information on the exact building code/standard being breached. Please help as I believe Carlisle Homes are deliberately taking advantage of me and bullying me as I am a first home buyer. How should I proceed?? Thank you in advance. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3460Dec 04, 2012 6:49 am ksj We are also building west of Melbourne. Not started yet.Who is your site supervisor ? Is he good? Supervisor seems okay, but maybe he is just telling me what I want to hear. The matter has exculated to the construction manager who is making decisions on the matter. It could of been a simple fix, but they decided not to fix it and now the plaster is in, and will have to be ripped out to fix it. 0 5286 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6665 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14772 |
