Messaged an administrator. NBJL - Just realised your lot is opposite ours.... really like the house you have chosen, colour of brick and all! Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 343Sep 02, 2010 8:31 pm Hi all, Our certificate of occupancy is being ordered next Wednesday...getting closer! Eskay - We haven't had an opportunity yet to take any decent photos of the inside. We went with a fairly neutral splashback colour (kind of like a latte colour). I'm sure you're red splashback will look great! By the way, we received the standard notice from Council tonight regarding your planning application for increased site coverage. The notice says that they won't be making a decision until after 16th September. Hopefully you'll get your permit after that. DGM - Our site manager is only away for a week commencing Monday 13th September...which hopefully shouldn't delay things for you too much. Hopefully we get some favourable whether now that winter is behind us and you can finally get your slab! It will be worth the wait We've been really happy with our builder and the quality of their work so I'm sure our site manager will do a great job for you too! Karmaz - We'll be sure to let you know about our removalists. We actually haven't booked them in as yet but we are going to use a company that my parents used recently. We'll post up some details in the next month. You must be thrilled now that your house is underway. We drove through the estate last weekend and had a look at your block. The site cut is great, you're block is still nicely elevated! Cheers NBJL Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 344Sep 03, 2010 11:33 am Thanks for letting me know about that letter NBJL. They didn't say anything about that when I spoke to them last week??? I was expecting to get the permit this week! More time to hurry up and wait.... DGM, did you get that letter too? Thanks folks. SK Hi Eskay, We were also very surprised to get a letter about your increased site coverage as well!! You are 21 Norris Cct aren't you? We're 41, not sure what it has to do with us whether you want to increase your site coverage or not!!!! Rest assured, we won't be objecting to it! Maddie Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 346Sep 03, 2010 10:28 pm NBJL, Thanks for the update on our site supervisor. Great to hear you had such a positive experience with him and build. Gives us some confidence with the coming months. Congrats on the pending Certificate of Occupancy too. How very very exciting! So close now. Do you plan to move in asap? Think we can convince you to provide estate updates to the forum as our resident spy? SK, No we haven't received another council letter re your planning application. Will let you know though if it turns up next week. Karmaz, Didn't register that your lot was just across the road from NBJLs. Amazing how many neighbours have found their way to this forum. Great to see your build going so well. Exciting times. Regarding our slab, basically it was explained to us that if site is cut whilst dry then slab can generally go down within day or two. However, ours was cut a day before a very wet week which consequently left a muddy foundation that can't be excavated further. We have no option but to wait till foundation is completely dry before the slab can go on. They've tried draining some of the problem areas but we just haven't had the right conditions to maintain that dryness. Anyway, that's the story and we are trying to stay positive. Bring on Spring and warmer weather! http://glenn-and-denhs-tribeca.blogspot.com/ Handover: Thurs 9th June!!! Fixing: forever and ever and ever...... Lockup: late Feb 2011 Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 347Sep 04, 2010 12:41 am Thanks DGM, Maddie, thanks for that. Yep, we're 21. Why they think somebody that far away would be concerned, I have no idea. Looks like they're going far and wide to TRY and find someone that will object... really... I've heard good stuff about Quick Pick movers on this forum, but will make a couple of calls when its time and any details you give will def help - thanks for that. Yes, our block is still elevated after the cut, and we do like that. Eskay - so annoying that the council seems to be distributing letters far and wide - hopefully most folk wont bother responding. DGM - on second thoughts, our block is a bit higher and really didnt retain much water at all. 702 and 703 and some of the other blocks have site cuts that go much deeper than ours and are at lower levels. From your explanation, it does look that Mcon have valid reasons to delay your slab. Hope that the weather warms up so that the rest of your build goes smoothly. TBH I didnt realise that NBJL was opp us till recently because of the odd way the blocks are numbered - 100's on one side and 700's on the other. Must be close to having your newest little one home now - good luck with it all! We met our SS recently and he seems really nice. Our frame is to start on Monday and he said it should be 10 working days to finish that! Talk about quick !! I'm going to take up the fence issue with Australand - wish me luck!! Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 349Sep 06, 2010 12:58 pm Woop woop! After almost 6 months, it appears the civil works for stage 2 have been completed - or are very close to completion. For the first time since March, we were able to gain access to our block! All that needs to be done now is the benching, and then we can FINALLY begin settlement and ultimately begin the building process. Who would have thought that just getting to the building part would be so loooong and stressful. So fingers are now firmly crossed for settlement in October. I would never dare presume it will happen, but I have allowed myself just the slightest glimmer of hope that it could happen. 12 months will have passed since we first purchased our lil block, but better late then never I guess. Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 350Sep 08, 2010 12:40 pm Its great to hear stage 2 is very close to completition hopefully this means stage 3 will be on its way. Man we are just hanging out to have access to our block again. How's is everyones block with all the rain we've been having. Haven't been up there for a few weekes now. Heard from our site supervisor today and the last couple of days of warm weather has enabled them to pour all the concrete piers this morning. They are hoping to progress on the slab sometime next week. I dare not dream ... or hold my breath but boy, it be amazing to come home from hospital to find slab done and frame started! (bubs#2 due next Thurs!!) karmaz, drove through estate on Wed and saw your frame in action, has gone up quick! You must be thrilled. I see what you mean about the fencing too. That really is unacceptable considering it runs along a public path. Good luck resolving it with Australand... or it might have to be tall hedges for additional fencing! http://glenn-and-denhs-tribeca.blogspot.com/ Handover: Thurs 9th June!!! Like you noticed, dgm, that fence is plain unsuitable from a safety, privacy and security perspective, especially for a family with young kids. So I contacted the developers, and they said I could build another fence on the ‘inside’ of that fence. Ahem! Have they considered how ugly this would look especially if our neighbours chose to build a fence of another colour and height? Anyone walking on the public path of the reserve would see double fences – the outside being the short pool type fence that exists and the inside one being the fence people choose to build, short, tall, yellow, purple, black or green. A multicoloured double fence for all houses along the entire side of the reserve – how beautiful (or completely daft) is that! Needless to say I battle on. On other news, was happy to see the frame of the lower level go up last Monday, but there was no action for the rest of the week. I contacted the SS today who assures me that the boys are back on the block today, so hopefully we see some more work get done. Its good though, getting a bit more of a feel of what the house will be like. DGM – I noticed that things were happening at your block as well (was pleased for you), here’s to a new bubs and a slab when you get back from the hospital! Good luck with it….. SK – any news? Your approvals should be in now? Housemouse and Dandav, hope your stages are released soon – waiting is so not easy. Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 354Sep 13, 2010 11:41 am Hi Karmaz. Why didn't they just build an attractive and functional fence in the first place? It will look weird from the back that's for sure! Not that it's your problem though, at least you will be able to have some privacy. Dandav - Our block is lot 203 (on the corner of Scurry Drive and Range Blvd). We are the first block on the left if you are standing at the beginning of the new stretch of Range Blvd, we were the people that had all the machinery and portable offices on their block. Eskay - Administrative error?? Argh how frustrating! DGM - Good luck for the safe arrival of your bubs Well hubby and I booked our babymoon holiday, we are going to the Sunshine Coast in October, the last thing we will do by ourselves for a loooong time I suspect! Can't wait to feel some sun on my skin that's for sure - this rain is doing my head in! xoxo Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 357Sep 13, 2010 7:03 pm Hi DGM - Yes we do plan to move in straight away, hopefully it's only a couple of weeks away now. And no worries, we would be happy to be your resident spies Great news on you hopefully getting your slab laid this week. We were in the range on the weekend and noticed your concrete piers, very exciting! Good luck with your new bubs this week too...you've got a lot to be excited about over the coming weeks! Cheers NBJL Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 358Sep 14, 2010 6:15 pm Wow...so much has happened in the estate today. Dgm...you've got a slab!! How exciting. They've also laid the slab on lot 143 which has been waiting for months (like dgm). The fences have also been taken down and now you can drive on the roads for stage 2. Hopefully you guys will be able to settle them soon. As for our house, unfortunately a beautiful sunny day went by with only a delivery of brickies sand...how depressing. Hopefully they'll still be able to lay some bricks during the week. Karmaz - they are ridiculous fences. It doesn't make sense because they haven't used the pool fences everywhere...other blocks have the timber fences. As someone else said, at least if you build a fence on your side you won't be able to see both from your side. (Hope that makes sense!) Maddie Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 359Sep 15, 2010 3:02 am Hi everyone, Drove past today (as you do) and was thrilled to see your slab DGM! That is fantastic, you'll be surprised at how fast things move once the slab is done. Good luck for tomorrow! NBJL - your driveway is looking good too, so nice to see your house complete. It looks great BTW, love your colour scheme. Eskay - I *thought* I saw you on your block but may have been mistaken cause I came over to introduce myself to the people on your block but it might have been someone else! So annoying about the error, unnecessary delays for you. Hopefully things pick up after the 17th. Maddie - Same here on our lot, a beautiful sunny day and nothing much happened except for a few windows that were moved about. Hopefully the next few days see our sites turn into hives of activity..... Housemouse - enjoy your babymoon! fantastic idea to get away and have some 'me' time! On the fencing, my last resort is to put a fence on the inside as you've suggested housemouse and Maddie. I guess I wanted the developer to fix the issue as if I do put up a second fence it will look ridiculous to anyone walking on the path and I do want to preserve the appeal of the reserve if you know what I mean. However, safety of the kids comes first and eventually if they dont fix it, will put up a second fence. Meanwhile, I've approached the council to see if they can help. Nothing much happening on our block - a bit disappointing as we drive around almost every second day. The SS indicated that the frame would be completed by the end of the week, but it doesnt look like it. The PD down the road (maybe 103?) is getting all the love with a roof et all, so maybe once thats done, we'll get some too. Here's to better weather! No, I haven't been there in a few weeks. Just want the council to do their thing before I think about the block any more so I haven't visited.
