Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 21... 3301Jun 14, 2017 1:17 am Your garage door won't be installed until towards the end with our builder. He does it once all the fittings happen. I would def ask for your swinging door - 820mm isn't narrow why would they just change it. Ceiling installation won't be done until all electrical is done, they place the bags up there ready so they don't need to try and get them through the man hole later. We found they left one bag in our ceiling but they also didn't insulate the alfresco ceiling (not in contract to do but they did garage) so we will be able to do the alfresco with it. So that was a happy surprise. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 21... 3302Jun 14, 2017 8:04 pm Surprise surprise no one turned up today, plaster was meant to start today 51 days to complete our house, bricks not done, plaster isn't even delivered, no word back on the door, haven't received kitchen plans to review yet how the hell can it be done in 51 days GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 21... 3303Jun 14, 2017 8:28 pm Not good news Charli. I don't know what to say I can't understand how that particular franchise system works. We use to own a franchise and the policy was to always look after the Brand. We had to respond with a solution and positive outcome to any customer enquiries within 24hrs. We then had to email our head office with the all the solution details and outcome. Obviously that brand has a different system. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 21... 3307Jun 14, 2017 9:22 pm What the hell! Hi Micah, This is again another email to tell you that we are concerned we aren't going to finish by the practical completion date 25th August given to us by you. The 25th August is 51 business days away - to date we do not have bricks up nor do we have plaster up, the rebate for the activity room door still hasn't been fixed - an issue I raised 2 1/2 weeks ago, I did not expect for the rebate to be fixed there and then when I raised it but I did not expect it to take this long. A cavity slider was put in instead of a hinged door from the garage to the house, I have asked for it to be changed to what is on the plan - I expect this is going to cause delays? Can someone please check that council approved plans are being used because obscured glass and a cavity slider door to the garage were in an early set of plans. At this point I have given up all hope that our house will be at practical completion stage by 25th August, which is devastating to us as a family that need our home. Charlibear Does it sound ok? I'm really a insane mess rocking myself in a corner haha its hard work to stay sane but I'm just trying to visualise the end product. It sucks driving out to see the non existent progress and driving past the new house in our estate that will probably over take us in 2 weeks Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 21... 3318Jun 15, 2017 11:48 am So glad you are sending this email. Maybe request he respond via email on furture stage build schedule. Ask him to layout exactly how he expects he can meet this time frame. You could say.... as per our conversation last week you indicated you will still meet the build time frame, we hold little hope for this considering we have no trades or trades that are only working for 1-2 hours per day. We request in writing a schedule breakdown on what and when to expect each stage of the build to commenece and how long each stage is expected to take. Eg: brick start and completion date.....
