I might get Andrew (hubby) to do the same when we check if the framers have done all the ones we requested. Unfortunately it has been a few days delayed as it was meant to have been completed by Monday meaning we would have avoided all of the rain coming this week. But it seems now our second story flooring is going to get a lot of water on it this week as the roofing is only about 1/4 complete. The guys have had to down tools as it is way too windy out there today to continue. It is not easy to see from the pictures as our roof is a 17° pitch rather 22° On a brighter note, our independent inspection report on the frame came back with only one tiny defect – a bulkhead between hallway and living room/kitchen was out of square. An easy fix. 😀 We have been extremely happy with the quality of the build so far – just a little frustrated that our plywood flooring is getting wet in this weather. Windows and doors have been delivered and unfortunately they are also out in the elements so we are hoping they will be installed very quickly after roofing has been completed. Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 304May 01, 2019 7:58 pm Don't worry about the upstairs flooring, that material is waterproof as hell... Ours got rained on for about 10 days, and swell up anywhere Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 305May 01, 2019 8:43 pm Drew01 Don't worry about the upstairs flooring, that material is waterproof as hell... But looks like u are getting only 1 or 2 days of rain. So no problem. Roofing complete (with exception of garage), lower floor windows in, heating ducts installed and plumbing roughed in. Chance meeting with SS onsite when I drove past today. Seems much nicer in person than his emails suggest lol. Having our first walk through with him next Thursday - he doesn’t know we walk through it every other day! More pics to come over the next few days.... Hopefully weather wrap to 2nd storey will be done soon to better protect it from the elements. Our SS is keen to get plaster done! That’s a shame... so frustrating when it slows down. Our SS is doing a reverse build to some extent as the brickies have taken a while to become available - so it has kept everything ticking along nicely. Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbourne 316May 15, 2019 6:32 pm Some pics from today – Weather wrap on 2nd storey, insulation is in and Gyprock craned in this morning through balcony door, ready to be installed tomorrow. A good start on the bricks today. I’m just a little worried about the mortar colour. I know it’s still wet but it looks very dark for off-white! - Edit: Brickies confirmed this morining that it is indeed off-white mortar! Phew! If they've chipped them while laying them, they have to be fixed with touch-up paint or replaced, and it's heaps easier to get them replaced while they are still there Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 318May 16, 2019 4:58 pm yes, we will definitely check them - we were thinking more so after they have been washed, but I think you raise a good point. Didn't think about them being chipped while laid. They are there until next Wednesday, so we will have a close look on the weekend. Thanks drew01 Re: Building a Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Melbo 319May 16, 2019 9:05 pm Looking good. They were the bricks I was going to pick.
