Who covers the cost of the surveyor then? Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2943Sep 17, 2015 2:11 pm Our latest update. The slab prep is in progress this week, with the slab pour scheduled for early next week. We are having the pre slab stage inspected by Darbecca The frame carpenter will then follow on after the slab. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2944Sep 17, 2015 2:50 pm JaxCook OK Joelgia maybe I just don't worry about it then. Who covers the cost of the surveyor then? There would be an allowance for a re surveying fee in your site costs. If you're unsure I'd have a chat to your prestart consultant Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2945Sep 17, 2015 4:43 pm Thanks. How long did it take everyone from title to start building? Exciting news Mrssilverbeetle Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2946Sep 17, 2015 4:45 pm Hmmmmmmm I believe about 4 or so weeks Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2948Sep 18, 2015 5:24 pm It just seems to be taking forever for things to happen :/ Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2949Sep 19, 2015 8:45 pm It is a long process JaxCook. Especially when youve waited for land to title. We signed up over a year ago and are still waiting! Regularly contact HBC asking for updates. Hopefully things happen soon! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2950Sep 19, 2015 8:56 pm it all just takes sooooo loooong. Our finance expired now out Titling has been delayed again, so our new Resolve Finance guy recommended we look for a better deal (he is fantastic so far by the way). We decided to look into BankWest who just came back with the valuation for our property right on the money, so hopefully within the week we will know if we have approval. Otherwise it'll be back to Westpac! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2952Sep 20, 2015 8:35 pm It does take forever, we signed up in November last year and were due to title in April!!! Good luck with finance, our resolve guy was fantastic as well. We will be in our new homes ONE DAY Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2953Sep 21, 2015 7:54 am Hi everyone I have been reading through everyones posts as we go through the whole building process and I just wanted to say that once construction starts its pretty much full steam ahead. Like some of you, we had to wait...and wait...and wait for our land to title. It was about 12 months all up from the beginning until construction started. From title to settlement was about a week as we already had the PIC and a few other things sorted. Settlement to construction was a matter of days and once we were handed over to construction we pretty much saw them get to work on our block - taps first (so exciting) then site scrape etc. We had our site scrape about 12 weeks ago, and we are due for handover in about 2 weeks. So for us (22sq single story home) construction looks like it'll be about 14 weeks or so (not long!) I know what the waiting game feels like but it goes so fast once you start to see things happen. Trust me - once the progress payments start coming in you will wish they would slow down a bit Good luck everyone Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2954Sep 22, 2015 8:50 pm Our slab was poured. First inspection happened yesterday and went well. Few minor things however he was pleased with their work. The site manager and his team were there just after 6am getting the minor things fixed. Exciting. Frame to start going up on Friday ! We are using them for the final inspection, undecided if we are going to for others just yet. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2956Sep 22, 2015 8:55 pm We did. Chris wrote a very comprehensive report. I called him and we spoke about it. Very happy. We are using them for every stage. It's expensive however we thought we should do it. Plan on living here a long time. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2957Sep 22, 2015 8:56 pm If you talk to Rebecca at the office she'll tell you what stages are most important. You don't have to get them all done Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2958Sep 23, 2015 2:19 pm Spoke to our co-ordinator and she said that: The frame carpenter will commence later this week. Fascia, gutter and roof cover to follow on after the frame. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2959Sep 26, 2015 9:11 am Its all happening so quickly for you Mrssilverbeetle. Where are you building again? We are being passed onto construction next week! Things have really sped up and we cant wait to be on site! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 2960Sep 26, 2015 9:16 am We are building in Yarra Glen. Congrats on being passed over to construction next week bugnada.
