Not a sound is heard downstairs from upstairs. It is very solid like stepping on the slab. I highly recommend it as
an alternative to chipboard flooring with its squeaking!
Did you use acoustic plaster for your ceilings as well?

Re: Building the Metricon Doulton 282Oct 21, 2019 10:18 am That's awesome to hear. Another idiot here that didn't get it. Seemed so expensive at the time, but now in retrospect, would have paid the money no problems. Re: Building the Metricon Doulton 283Oct 25, 2019 10:24 pm dulie That's awesome to hear. On top of the floor we would have to change the roof pitch to be under the 9m height limit. I won't call it that way. People have different constraints and information available when making decisions. Our Vantage will have the Hebel powerfloor and 2.7m to both floors so that the height would go beyond the 8.5m council limit. I asked Metricon to change the roof pitch to accommodate both upgrades (without extra charges). Too late for me but I can tell others of your positive experience. We just have to identify all creaks before handover and put in some premium underlay for upstairs carpet. That's all we can do for now. Did you use acoustic plaster for your ceilings as well? Macher I did not use acoustic plaster for the ceilings. when requesting the extras on the build I was very 2 dimensional and did not think of the ceilings. I am sure that covering the ceilings with soundstop would have doubled the cost of the wall soundstop plaster and that would have been just for the ground floor ceiling let alone first floor. One thing I have learnt from experience is outside noise comes mostly from the windows and it is there that you need to spend the money. Double glazing does help a bit, but in a perfect world multiple(3 or 4) thick panes would be better. Trying to work out if I need from a thermal or noise perspective? My husband is concerned with using the PowerFloor only? Really appreciate your experience!
