Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 282Jul 08, 2014 6:36 pm Hi inflames62, There is no other way, you can pay a fee to the council to release all your neighbors details for fencing reasons then give them 3 quotes and wait for their reply as they might be able to get a cheaper price and would not be willing to the price you are getting it for. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 283Jul 08, 2014 6:42 pm ah ok. cheers for the feedback. ill wait it out until i meet them all i guess. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 284Jul 08, 2014 10:43 pm Dumping warning! Hi all Went out to our block on the weekend, looked like 2 small tipper truck loads dumped on our block, couldn't tell whether it was from the estate or not. Full of larger rocks though. So for all those at our stage (ie not up to building / safety fencing yet) you may want to keep a good eye on things. Wearemoving, did you just ring the council when you had your problem? Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 285Jul 08, 2014 10:48 pm We did but they couldn't do anything about it. This was b4 the cameras went in. But my next door had home Reno material dumped and I saw council truck removing the dump so I would say give them a call and try your luck, they might charge you for the removal. But it's worth a try. What a shame people can't do the right thing like the rest of us. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 286Jul 08, 2014 11:24 pm The "Adjoining Owners Details" form is available from The Hills council website. You just need to print/complete/scan and email it back. The fee is $6 so it's hardly going ot break the bank. I just did this for one neighbour and despite my poor handwriting causing the first email reply to go astray I've not gotten their details (I skipped the next process though and just tracked them down through LinkedIn rather than send them a letter). Another way to do it is keep an eye on the DA tracking website. When my other neighbour lodged their DA I called their builder, passed on my details and asked them to call me. Good thing I did because we discovered that we were both going to cut our back yards to the same level so we both saved a retaining wall. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 287Jul 08, 2014 11:28 pm FYI the contact details for the guy that did the fencing for the Council are:
Just called the guy and unfortunately they only really do large civil jobs (the council job was 400 metres) so unless a few blocks wanted to band together and get their fencing done at the same time he suggested a local contractor would be more suitable. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 288Jul 09, 2014 9:04 am On our last home we contacted the neighbors first to ensure they were happy with the selection and plan. Council helped us get in touch with them. Then the fence company invoiced each of us separately. Usually if there's any homes that require retaining the higher side pays for it. Every circumstance is different though. Hope that helps! Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 289Jul 09, 2014 10:07 am With retaining walls, each owner is responsible for retaining whatever they do to their block back to the "natural level" of the land. So if you cut or fill your block you have to retain it either way back to the natural level. Also, you can't retain right on the boundary, it has to be in a little (900mm I think). Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 290Jul 09, 2014 10:18 am Hi guys my husband is a concretor and just told me you can retain on your boundry but it cant be no higher then 1m otherwise it needs to be engineered He does driveways, decrotive concrete and has his own bobcat, excavator and tipper truck if any one needs excavation, leveling or tipping of any material Will look after you in price for anyone in the estate as were all going to be neighbours Also has contacts in the building industry for most types of trades if anyone need any help Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 291Jul 09, 2014 1:25 pm That's good info ATJ351. Re: Grey Gum Estate Kellyville 300Jul 19, 2014 10:47 am Hi all, Just bumped met a new neighbour today (forgot his and her name sorry ) but they mentioned there is no gas infrastructure yet in the estate. I didn't see any either near the services and am a little concerned now. Certain the contract mentioned gas but has the infrastructure changed ?
