Took me a while to read through everyone's post since I last posted. Maddie Great to hear your bricks have arrived! Got my final drawings two days ago. Have been browsing through them as quick as I could for the past two nights just to make sure! Found quite a few discrepancies to what i've wanted To summarize: 1. I've got two towel rails in my bathroom: In the drawing it's put at a height of 900mm and 1.9m. So I thought 1.9m is a bit too high! Changed that to 700mm apart. 2. Incorrect tiles in the ensuite. 3. Requested them to delete the balcony tiles even though I don't have a balcony As I'm getting my tiles, carpet(except for the wet areas) from an outside vendor, I requested for the builders to tag the skirting board, allowing the tiler/carpet layer to install the flooring without much hassle at a later stage. However, was told, I could either have the skirting board "installed permanently & painted" or "not installed & not painted". I said to leave them installed permanently & painted, and maybe thought I could speak to the site superviser to not installed the painted skirting boards at fixing stage. Any advise on what I should do? Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 283Aug 05, 2010 6:46 pm Hi boonnem, They told us the same thing about the skirting boards...such a pain in the ***!! We are also hoping to ask the SS to just tack in the skirting boards!! Will let you know how we go, but probably won't be coming up for a couple of months. Hi xdc351, As far as we remember our Asset Protection Permit fee was included in the cost of house, although not totally sure. Who are you building with? Maddie Re: The Range Estate - Croydon.....Anyone else Building ther 286Aug 06, 2010 9:44 pm xdc351 Hi Guys - has anyone else received a letter from Council stating that you need to pay $1200 for an 'Asset Protection Permit' ? - if so, did you just send this to the Builder? Hi xdc351, We did receive a letter from council. I notified our builder and they took care of it, application and payment. Basically its to protect damage from construction work so makes sense for builders to absorb or take responsibility. Once paid for, we received a copy of the permit from council for our records. http://glenn-and-denhs-tribeca.blogspot.com/ Handover: Thurs 9th June!!! Fixing: forever and ever and ever...... We purchased land in stage 3 of the development (Evergreen release), just reading the posts on the confusion/lack of communication re settlement for stage 3, we visited the estate this morning and popped into the sales office to ask a couple of questions - were also told that settlement would now be December – apparently a letter will be going out in the coming weeks… very frustrating..!! It’s great to see so many beautiful houses going up... hopefully we will get there one day Can’t wait to start building! I was hoping to start building soemtime this year, looks like we'll get started in 2011. All this rain hasn't been helping with the works of the stage and there was some issue with council. We haven't seen our letter yet Looks like we'll be having a Xmas celebration on an empty block. Amzandsean, your house is looking great!! We can't wait to move in.. by the time we get in we'll be getting married. We were hoping to be in the house at least 6months before our big day, now it's all going to be happening around the same time. Oh well, not much I can do about it. I just came across this thread while googling The Range. Its been a long journey for us. We first looked at the land in July last year, bought around that time as well. First chose Mode Three/House This (terrible experience). They had no insurance and so did nothing so I cancelled the contract in March this year. Signed up with Porter Davis who were to start in July - guess what? Its August and they haven't started yet. They have promised to be on site next week though, lets see how that goes. After all we have been through I'm not holding my breath! Been round the estate and it seems to be developing well. I must say I'm a bit disappointed by the high density housing around the secondary entrance, and the reserves dont seem to be as big as they seemed in the model. Its early days still. And another pet gripe is the ridiculous fence that is on the boundary between the reserve and our block. I dont see how Australand expects us to live with that - its waist high and a pool type fence that anyone can lean over. Zero privacy and just not practical. Good luck to everyone on here - wishing you good weather and efficient builders! You must all be devastated!! I wonder if this is going to push back all of the other stages as well. A couple of questions for those who are already building... How often do you get updates from your SS or Administrator? Also, has anyone else put in the wiring for your phone? How did it go? karmaz, welcome to Norris Cct, hopefully you get to start building soon, and the ground isn't too wet to lay the slab. Good luck to everyone else for whichever stage you're up to...
