We had one side of ours put up before our construction and it is the major complaint of our neighbours... They wanted it... The fill has built up on our side during different stages of the build, it is above the original level. The whole fence including retaining will need redoing!! The neighbours will need to consider agpipe and how to deal with water run off, which I think they are irked about as they have already landscaped their side and this wasn't done. They have dogs and wanted it fenced as soon as they moved in so their dogs could move in too. But it is going to probably gonna cost double what we originally paid to fix it up. We wont have any runoff issues as its a flat block... We are in the same boat as we have dogs too... I was hoping eden brae might let us get them put up once they are finished with the exterior... We are having lapped and capped, as per our development... I dont know if that is a good or bad thing.... I have seen Few fences that have been up a little while and they can look a bit shabby... We are in the same situation - need fences - and I think with our added concrete it is going all the way to the fence!!!!! - Not sure how EB have control over anything outside of their fencing - saying that I would be concerned about it getting damaged. This fencing is all new to me - we built in Brissy area on acreage and lived onsite for the last few weeks, and owner built previously so will struggle with being locked out!!! Also benblinkau, we are away with a friend camping this weekend and he does fences - lives in Thornton so we are getting him to quote so will PM the quote when we get it if you like. To say i was pi$$ed off would be an understatement and then we go around the back and the external door to the garage has been pryed open and the same with the internal door to the house from the garage. Both doors are split and the internal door frame is stuffed. I'm guessing these idiots were after appliances because nothing was missing and there was no other damage anywhere. Hopefully this won't hold up our handover. One thing i will be doing now is getting deadbolts or something on these doors because it didn't seem to hard to get them open. Building the Lawson with Eden Brae in Cameron Park Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 2785Feb 16, 2013 5:09 pm Been AWOL for a couple of weeks - not much has changed for us but I just read through ten pages on here! Kerith, I am glad to see you back, and hope you and your family are doing as well as can be expected. 1sttime - Looks like nothing has changed with your neighbours Hopefully they won't be such...let's say 'boofheads'...once you have to live beside them. 3 weeks ago our plans went to Landcom (UrbanGrowth NSW) / Oran Park for approval of design, fencing and landscape areas. Yesterday we were approved. Just need to add a couple of dozen more plants against the house. Now we will be closer to 150 plants. 90% of them in the front yard! We visited the Drysdale in Spring Farm recently to get a better idea for planning the pantry, wardrobes etc. All of these are coming empty in our plan. Stephen got excited and has drawn up a pantry plan. Stone bench top, soft close drawers, a place for the microwave and other appliances. Nothing too over the top but it will be nice and practical, and give us the extra space for the thousand appliances I have. I'll update the blog and add plans as well as our extremely basic EBH kitchen (all we are keeping is the stone benchtops - everything else must go!), which will be jazzed up after handover. When I look at the plan it looks a little disappointing haha, but it's what we want. Kristen & Stephen - Built the Eden Brae Drysdale 27 at Oran Park (We're in!!!) Thank goodness nothing was missing. Are they able to fix the driveway?? As the whole site is still under eb care then are they able to remove tyre tracks etc? It's pretty scared how easily they were able to break into your house. Dead bolts is definitely a good idea! Hopefully they can fix the doors quickly. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 2789Feb 17, 2013 9:05 am Welby, that's so upsetting, I hope Eden Brae get on to it quickly so as not to delay settlement. It's really sad that such people have so little respect or regard for the hard work and time that goes into building a home - LOSERS! Hang in there, you are so close Welby!! I hope this doesn't delay things for you. Something you might want to consider, perhaps after handover is putting a solid door on the internal garage door. We had one included at our colour selection appointment after discussing the possibility of a break in, deciding the internal door was the better choice if anything happened to the operation of your garage door or there was a break in via the external or garage door.

Welby, the security issues around here are restricted to construction sites. We've lived in the area for 15 years & never had a problem. Unfortunately there is an 'element' that knows they can easily flog things from unoccupied sites. Once people move in they move on. A big welcome to you! Ask any question and we will probably answer. I m replying from my 'new home' for the next few days - a hospital room. My nearly 6yo daughter has been admitted for a severe viral asthma attack (not an asthmatic) and possible pneumonia due to her lack of progress. I am completely shattered after not sleeping a wink in Emergency last night nor any Nanna nap today. Just what our family needs! Welcome kirden, Kerith is doing a knockdown rebuild, read her blog so you can pick up some tips. I drive past my site and think nothing has changed much, but... I noticed the gyprock for under the eaves has been delivered and so I got out and took a photo... Also then noticed some silver brackets on the frames in the garage... From a distance it looks like the electrical has also been fitted out.... It will be exciting to do our inspection Thursday afternoon, the site also looks like it has been cleaned up a bit. HR comes out wednesday for an inspection... Exciting stuff. Built a Hawthorne 31 with EB nessjeffdreamhouse.blogspot.com.au Building an investment now with New Living homes... I really hope your daughter makes a fast and full recovery. At least in hospital she will be getting the care and rest that she needs. Hopefully you can get some rest now that your daughter has a room as well. Hi and welcome to the forum. We are also building a Hamilton, but the 33sq version. We made a couple of modifications to our house and took advantage of the eb 2 squares promotion that they had mid last year. Looking forward to hearing more about the selections you make along the way. Glad that your plans have been approved as well. What else do you need to do before you get your file released to construction? Yup, it's no wonder they make a killing out of the kitchens when you compare the lovely display home kitchens to what you get as standard! Definitely in a good position with the cabinetry. Honestly, I have no idea what comes next for us. The land registration was delayed for a month or so. They think it may be ready to go to Council by the end of March. Not sure if the delay will bump back our original given start date. This week we've just been following up on things that should have been amended earlier. Things like paint colours that were added to our file incorrectly and increasing the height of the shower niches by 3-5cm or so (thank you to all who brought up the issue in here). So jealous of you guys with walls and bricks and upcoming handovers! I know we'll get there, I just hate not being able to do anything about all the waiting (Eek, reckon I'll be pretty bad when there is actual building taking place! ). Kerith, I think you've had more than your fair share of bad things going on for a while. Hope the little one is doing well soon. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 2800Feb 19, 2013 8:05 am Hi Kerith, hope she gets better soon. Hi Baulkam Hills, we are going to take advantage of the same offer, since we need 50% landscape on our block we wouldnt be able to go to the 33, as it is we are squeezing the margins to the fence lines pretty close as is.. The only modifications we have decided on are colourbond roofing, extending (if possible) the length of the garage by 1m to the front and the rumpus will be sealed off (no exit onto the alfresco) and converted to home theater. Still very very early in the process, so much to choose and decide on, im sure that there will be many more.. ________________ KNBR EB Hamilton 31 I built with EB back on 2009.
