I'd add that to your defaults list just in case Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2742Feb 27, 2017 9:36 am caitnkase Ryalls_first_build caitnkase Omg... No should not be like that at all. Complain and I would be insisting the tiles are ripped up and re done... Maybe get an independent inspector out to do a report? Might cost a couple hundred dollars but it would be worth ot Its crazy hey! the tiles all look to be glued down well so just the grout to be re done, honestly im at the point where i dont want their d0dgy trades going anywhere my house so would be happy if they compensated me and i did it myself! Do you know if there is such a thing as an independent tile inspector? not sure if it's specifically tiles but a building inspector would be able to write a report about that. Good they are glued down ok. Last thing you need is to regrout but have tiles pop up in a few years :/ Hahaha yes well it seems to be one of those houses where the unthinkable happens lol I think ill get it looked at for piece of mind.. Thanks again! _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2743Feb 27, 2017 11:23 am You can see some of the places its starting to weaken. Those pics aren't good, I've never seen grout go like that before even in old houses. So much for them to fix up, your SS better get straight on it totally unacceptable. I'd put in as much detail as possible and go over everything with a fine tooth comb. Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2749Feb 27, 2017 3:44 pm wow that sucks be super specific so they know exactly what you want fixed! Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2750Feb 27, 2017 5:00 pm I know a building inspector in NSW who can somehow help you. Just check out their website and contact details http://www.brenthenessinspections.com/. We hired them before for building and pest inspection. I'm not sure if they include tile inspection on the service but you can ask him. Brent is very nice, he is close to our family. Hope this helps! Cheers! Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2751Feb 27, 2017 6:44 pm Oh god ryalls!! That's terrible!! Perhaps just see what coral do before spending money on an inspector. It seems pretty obvious to me that the grout is defective. It's now a matter of how they will rectify. If it is scratching out in a number of places they may have to re-grout your whole house! Coral may be doing the same in all my wet rooms so it can be done, and the SS even suggested it to me! C U S T O M. C O R A L. I know its weird, if you see where the little holes are all you have to do is rub that section with a key or fingernail and it goes all powdery.. SS said its a maintenance issue - Of course! _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2753Feb 28, 2017 8:53 am surtees wow that sucks be super specific so they know exactly what you want fixed! Hehe it does! Although we always hate the grout colour so it could have been worse lol I sent off the maintenance request yesterday and they replied that the maintenance supervisor will be in touch in the next 15 working days.. hopefully hes not a douche lol _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Ryalls - Coral Homes Noosa 26 - Post handover journey :) 2754Feb 28, 2017 8:54 am buildX I know a building inspector in NSW who can somehow help you. I dont think either of us were meant to have an easy ride lol When i told my SS the first thing he said to me was 'what are you using to clean the tiles?' can you believe he was trying to blame me! I told him it is whats recommended on the beaumont tiles website, Although it kinda explains why they always look cloudly for a day or so after mopping. Id be happy to have the house re-grouted although i worry they might damage the tiles, I guess will have to wait and see.
