Daniel Building estimator at Ford Homes Building designer after hours: Whitehaus Design & Drafting Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2748Mar 07, 2016 3:37 pm Sure is. Now we have issues with the block next to us though. I'm not sure if a peg is wrong but it looks like they have cut into our land plus built a retaining wall just off the boundary (we're talking 10cm off nowhere near 1m). Going to head out with a tape measure during the week and try and work it out. Do you think we should talk the the council or the builder if it's wrong (which I'm 90% sure it is). I'm guessing we will have to get a surveyor back out before we can do fences. We finished building in Northlakes about 18 months ago, but have continued to follow this thread and watching everyones homes come to life. We are in Salamon road, and my husband is a concreter, and is in the process of starting up his own buisness, he is fully licenced and registered with the MBA. He has done FIFO in the mines for the past 10 year, and has 15 years experience in all aspectes of domestic and commerical concreting so if anyone is in the need of some concreting work please let me know. If you look through my blog you will see some of his work that he did at our place. Hi Pinny, What sort of concreting does he do? Slabs, driveways etc and if he does driveways does he do exposed aggregate? I second this enquiry! Joey (8 Dunsyre Av.) Hows the build going Joey?[/quote] Moving along now! Void protection is out and stairs/balustrades are in! Carpenter has nearly finished with the architraves and doors and the tilers are in late this week. After that the painter goes through I believe then the electrical fit out then flooring It has been constant progress since the gyprock went in so hopefully it keeps on rolling! How's everything with you guys? Joey (8 Dunsyre Av.) Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2750Mar 07, 2016 4:56 pm KLB Sure is. Now we have issues with the block next to us though. Where the cut for their retaining is, is literally the boundary line so we have no idea how they got it approved. Plus it is well over 1m high so should be tiered but they can't now so some serious steel ridding will need to be done but we are being watchful in case they try to put a fence up further in, don't let anybody steal your land!! If they have done it as a complying development and it is cut into the ground then they can go to the boundary but obviously not over it. You can't go to the boundary though if the wall is retaining fill (above natural ground level). If it was done through council with the retaining walls included in the DA then everything has to be a metre off the boundary whether you're cutting or filling Daniel Building estimator at Ford Homes Building designer after hours: Whitehaus Design & Drafting Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2753Mar 07, 2016 5:23 pm Benji241 KLB Sure is.
