Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2742Jun 04, 2013 10:06 pm We had our private inspection done yesterday, he picked up heaps of stuff we didn't/couldn't see, lots of unfinished paintwork, brickwork, flashing etc but the roof insulation some parts haven't even been laid they are just loose and incomplete in some areas! The power pole was installed today I had electricity accounts set up last Friday so hopefully we'll have meters/power by end of week. Should get the report tomorrow to see what's missing and/or needs fixing. Now that we have electricity, I also got the chance to try the light switches. The left switch, turns the middle set of downlights, the middle switch, the right set and the right switch, the left set! They need to be swapped. Same upstairs. Here's hoping Have you already rec'd your bill for PCI, I haven't got one yet! I'm not sure if our bank will send anyone out, they haven't so far! We just have to have the building insurance as far as I know, which you need as of PCI anyway! Oh no on the light switches, how lucky you got the power on before the inspection then, I had no idea we had to organise an electrician ourselves to complete the connection, it's always been done by the builder in previous builds 12 DA 22/6 Tiles 11/8 Aircon/Sent 17/8 Colours 24/8 Contract 24/8 Demo 5/10 Scrape 6/11 Slab 20/11 Frame 30/11 13 Roof 15/2 Insulation 25/3 Paint 8/5 Garage door 22/5 PCI 30/5 Keys 21/6 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2745Jun 05, 2013 12:06 pm shireduplex Here's hoping Have you already rec'd your bill for PCI, I haven't got one yet! If PCI is your last progress payment, I guess they will hold it back till the project is complete. In our case, we still have last 3% at handover. I had to organise and pay for electrician to connect the meter box to the grid. The electrician will provide you with a NMI number you give it to your provider of your choice. Then your provider will give you a job # to give it to the electrician so he can purchase the meter and install it. TODAY'S UPDATE We had the rainwater detention tank work start today. The location is now dug. Tomorrow we will have the tank installed. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A mountain of dirt. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2746Jun 05, 2013 6:45 pm lots happening for everyone, really great to see I hope everyone stays on their timelines who are so close to handover!!! had a waste of a day (not me but my partner) he drove out to the land to meet the electrician and discovered he had already been yesterday but I guess on the upside lots has happened, all the cables run by the electrician and sentinel, only thing sentinel need to do is run the data cable which I'm wondering if that was done today. air con ducting was completed and installation was delivered. all scaffolding from the front of house removed and our cladding and reaming eaves painted, although I've been told it's a bit of a d0dgy job. we haven't received our roof tiles invoice yet, but Peter said that the 3 remaining tiles that still needed to be put in place are still sitting there, I wouldn't think M would hold off on invoicing us for those 3 tiles but either way I won't complain. had out private inspector out on Tuesday and report the same night with awesome photos for reference points, most things look to be minor....incomplete work or more just lazyness I think.....emailed this through to SS not sure if a response received as Peter has been dealing with all that. Taking the parents out to see the place on Saturday, really excited to see all the above work, but made Peter take heaps of photos for me, now to just wait for him to get home!!! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2747Jun 05, 2013 8:16 pm Wow - great news for you all. Vatche and Shireduplex am hoping all the last bits happen quickly for you! Riccaaa - great progress and so good your partner was able to get to the site to monitor the progress. We are still in limbo - no PCI date and cannot get any info out of our SS. I went to look at the site today and the fence is gone which was exciting! Unfortunately for the third day in a row I found a door unlocked - not happy! This time it was the front door wide open. I have discovered too that the bath in our main bathroom hasn't even been plumbed in yet, along with the incorrectly installed evaporative cooler still sitting perched on our roof! Totally over the whole thing, suggested to the hubby tonight that we just cut our losses and go buy a house somewhere else because at the rate we are going we will still be living with Mum at Christmas!!! Why have they removed the fence before PCI? I had our back door open over the weekend. Please update us soon. The more pictures of finished work/products we see, the better we know what choices we could make by seeing the results here on this forum. Like our rainwater tank, looks like we will have this round concrete thing sticking out, right at the front of the house, practically in front of the door landing, smack middle of the house! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We drew a string from the square drainage, which is our lower ground level, to the top of the second step, our proposed top ground level (Driveway/path). It showed how much the round maintenance hole will stick up above the ground. For me, the tank is about 20cm too high and needs the ring cut in half. Our SS is trying to work out what can be done. I trust he will resolve it ASAP Since we never knew what the thing looked like, or how far it will stick up (we thought it would be something like the square one already installed), and had no say in it, it is concerning. Hope it will get worked out. I would have preferred ugly tank at the side, back of house, rather than a concrete sticking out at the front yard. Worst case scenario, install a water fountain feature on top of it? I hope they work it out. It's weird how M do things in different order. We had the drainage and tank installed immediately after site scrape, and were put off by the height of the tank access panel too. But fortunately, the level of the landscaping is such that we managed to bury it and cover with grass, after noting the position. If we ever need access, which I seriously doubt, we'll just dig it up again and re-lay the grass down once whatever maintenance is required is done... Here's a pic of how it was installed - crazy mismatched levels (we were told at the time due to the design of the outlets from the tank) - Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The drainage is talked about in my blog here - http://new-lindfield-house.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/plumbing-and-drainage-done-ready-for.html It's true the drainage plan makes no mention of heights of the various appliances. I was more worried about our over-flow drain (exactly the same as the one next to your tank). The height was about 40cm higher than the access panel for the tank, which was strange. Now it is the only thing showing. I remember reading and seeing your blog on them. I think because ours was at the front, they delayed it till last. I just hope they will bring back the crane, lift it up, dig bit more and replace it again, at least level to ground. The hydraulics engineer should have known about the site survey and levels and assign the level accordingly. The issue here is, what if I want to keep the steps and level the front hard to that level. Hope you have some news soon Apparently it was contractors who had been at the house, they may have thought they shut and locked the door but it is quite heavy so it was open when I discovered it. Got on to the SS later during the week, the electricity is due for connection on Wednesday and he will get all inspections done from there. Hoping PCI might be at the end of the week, although I am not that confident after finding out late Friday afternoon that there has been a problem and our fittings for all the bathrooms haven't been ordered and we had to re-select an option we were emailed. Not sure there is much in the house we originally selected! Site was all cleaned up and dirt piles spread evenly around the block on Friday. Think it's just the final plumbing and gas work, completion of the window angles along with the removal of the evaporative cooler and roof repair as the last things to do! Not sure there is much in the house we originally selected! How true this is prety much to everyone. Having your colour selections 6-8 months prior to any construction, is way too early and lot of selected items get discontinued. M thinks this is the best way. I personally don't think so. Funny how when a client needs to change an item, there is a charge. But when M cannot deliver the product you selected, there is no compensation, more still, you need to leave everything to go and select a new one. My question is, if you could re-select an item days before installation, why couldn't you do that in the first place? Any answer M gives you in this regard is a BS. Because even your final tender still is approximate and not 100% cost of the product. As for our build, we should have keys by next Friday, if M HQ gets all the paperwork ready. Even with all of my involvement of the project, visiting the site every day, and even getting kicked out of there, just yesterday I discovered an issue that is far to late to resolve. I should have questioned our SS, but missed it. All I can say is, M puts too much trust on their sub-contractors and not enough on their clients. I will talk about it soon on my blog. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2759Jun 08, 2013 5:41 pm Vatche MJ Overture Hey Vatche, we had to remove the internal access as the the stairs required due to the split would not allow us enough room to fit two cars.. I'll just have to brave the rain the one step to get to the Portico or thought the side of the house (which is roofed over) I guess it will look similar to DSA39's house plan. Sometimes you have not much choice Good luck and make sure you go over the plans over the weekend thoroughly. Yes I think your right vatche. We're happy for you all! We're just about finished on the landscaping front, having moved in the house around a month ago. We still have boxes, and cannot drive on our driveway for another few days due to getting it sealed, but we're just about done in terms of work. We've had shutters and blinds installed in all windows and doors, landscaping front and rear, footpaths installed down the side, even the letterbox and clothes line Will keep the blog updated, as we replace light fittings and install things. Maybe it will be of help to some people here. Talk soon, joandwaz Hey Jo & Waz great to hear. We also will be able to drive on our driveway next weekend which is a godsend as our landscaping is way behind due to the estate being nothing but incompetent and so the approval for the retaining wall only came in on Friday ! Now to get a construction certificate. So I know you got your shutters from Ark we have had amazing customer service from them and are about to order, are you happy with the product and after sales service?
