Are they still within contract period? Maybe they are not in such a hurry. I hope you haven't given notice on a rental property just yet. At the same time I just want it done properly so they can take their time. We are still living in our PPOR so dont have to give notice anywhere or have to move anytime soon we can stay as long as we want. We will rent it out when we move. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 2704Feb 12, 2013 8:42 am livewildcard - That's very disappointing to hear, I hope everything gets sorted for you. I do hope they start fixing up all the issues that you found at PCI. I wouldn't be settling until most (if not all) those issues are fixed, especially the tiling issues and poor paint work. i can understand how you feel about wanting them to take their time to fix the issues so that the work is good quality when you take possession of your house, but at the same time wanting it to be done quickly so that you can move in. I think we are all at the mercy of the tradies that are booked in to work on our homes. If they are great at their job and know what they are doing then you will have a good quality house. If they aren't, then you will have a lot of stuff ups that need to be rectified! What I am wanting to know is did the shower niche turn out to be the right height when it was gyrpocked and tiled? I have a few concerns about what i think are my shower niches. The frame work for them is shorter than the 270mm that is in my contract. By the time they gyprock the area and tile it, I will be lucky to have a shower niche that is 240 mm high! Please let me know if you measured the frame work for your niches and if the niches turned out OK in the end. If I do have a issue then i would prefer to have it rectified before the gyprock goes in this week. It will mean that I will have to have a meeting on site with SS. Once your job is released, you will be allocated to a site supervisor." How long does estimating take? The usual 2-3 weeks for a price/costing?? Hi livewildcard - I hope they shouldn't take too long to fix these issues. Granadz Drysdale - Congratulations for the pegs Baulkhan Hills - We had our inspection this morning and very happy with the work so far, wet area tiling and painting is done, electricians starting tomorow. Very happy with the paint work and the tiling work, our tilers took 2 weeks for the tiling but the quality of work is unbelievable, at the end its up to the tradies. No, we didn't notice the niche height, we should have done that though ,in the picture niche height looks ok to me but not sure are they really 270mm. Here is the powder room and main bathroom niches. If you have doubt defintaely meet with SS and take the measurements. I received the exact same email that you have mentioned on the 12th of October and by 31st we had our slab poured. I think that during the time, engineering will go over you plans a final time as it was during this period that a mistake in our plans was found. Kerith Good to hear the you are all holding up. Hopefully your hubby and inlaws are doing better. Sohnaeo I love the colours that you chose for you shower niches. Nice and dark colours. We went with a lighter brown colour as it went better with our vanity colours. Looks like things are powering along for you now. I can't wait till I am at that stage. I have emailed my SS to see if he is willing to meet us onsite. It has been very helpful and I'm so glad for all the information everyone has provided in their journey of building. We're in the early stages of building. We found a block by accident one day after viewing an open house. It looks like we're going with the Shefield 25. The appeal of it was the narrow width (11700) to allow for side access and the seperate rumpus and lounge room. I found some houses they were in close proximity and the noise from one room would compete in another. We had a meeting with Gary at Spring Farm and have made some initial changes (subject to cost) * extending the WIR - by removing the second door in the Main Bedroom and 400mm into the lounge room. * enclosing the study * enclosing the rumpus (on the display they have shutters closing off the room). Some minor issues I have thought of include: * where to hang the towels to dry after use in the ensuite? * the pantry in the kitchen isn't very user friendly i.e. it will be hard to reach items on the far left of the pantry. * the length of the window in the bathroom, where the bath and window meet. If anyone has some helpful hints, it would be greatly appreciated. Already, I'm frustrated with the extra costs to finish the house. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 2717Feb 12, 2013 5:31 pm Hey and welcome to the world of EB There are always extra costs depending on how you want to finish your house and its up to you to determine what you are willing to settle for and pay. It's also a cost vs convenience factor for people too. I pmd you also with the changes we made. If you look through the thread you can see the floorplan we have and some of the additions we made. More than willing to provide information to you as are the fellow EBers.
