WOW, your house looks amazing. We still haven't started! Very frustrating, still waiting for the council to assess our flood overlay.....we were told it could take 2 months but hoped it wouldn't. On another note, a question for you- just wondering if you have a join in your island bench and if so, how does it look? Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 262Sep 15, 2015 9:07 pm Lookin good. Bathroom looks awesome. Do you have any close ups of the niches? Im interested to see how the edging looks Our build - MainVue Amalfi 428 - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75482 Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 263Sep 15, 2015 10:31 pm Saint Girl Hi Kirst, I dropped off the forum for a while but thought I'd pick it up again. WOW, your house looks amazing. We still haven't started! Very frustrating, still waiting for the council to assess our flood overlay.....we were told it could take 2 months but hoped it wouldn't. On another note, a question for you- just wondering if you have a join in your island bench and if so, how does it look? Oh No Saint Girl. That is so disappointing for you. Is there any indication how far away your start will be? How long have you been in the hands of the council? In answer to your question, I assume you mean a join as in two pieces of stone? If so, then no, there is no join. The top is one piece, which looks nicer as the real deal than what photos can make it look. Do you have any close ups of the niches? Im interested to see how the edging looks Thanks Josh. I haven't taken any close ups of the niches recently, but I do have a couple, below, that were taken pre-caulking. Of note, the niche in the bathroom is incredible. The one in the ensuite has a little bit too much of an angle on it for our liking, and we will be asking our SS about having this remedied. The below pics are from our bathroom. http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah241/kirsty8181/DSC01930_zpsbnrbdqyh.jpg http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah241/kirsty8181/DSC01936_zpsggwedox0.jpg Building our MainVue Amalfi 530 - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75694 Re: Our First home, building MainVue Amalfi 530 265Sep 17, 2015 8:54 pm 4 weeks notice to vacate submitted to our real estate agent today. We are still working towards settling on the 10th Oct. I had my walk through with Ben (construction manager) earlier in the week and he said Danny should be back next week hopefully! So is PCI and NHP separate things? Haha I assumed they were the same! Identical builds! We've gone par for par for so long, and the fact that we both handed notice in on the same day is a little spooky. LOL! When's your farewell to your current house party scheduled? We're going for our "house-cooling" party next weekend. Are you breaking your lease early? Hi Conifers, It's the best feeling ever. Paying rent and mortgage is not much fun. We're lucky, our lease expired 3 months ago. We've been transparent with our agent throughout the whole build process and our movements, so we've been going month by month in the interim. Danny's wife was unwell when we had our last walkthrough (I think he's been off since then actually). Poor guy has had a rough run this year. Like you, our house has now been overseen by Ben, and according to our admin everything is gearing towards all the dates that Danny has been working with. PCI and NHP are two different things. In a nutshell, one is an inspection, and the other a presentation of everything in your house. Well, at least that's how I see it. We've had a few different housemates in our current house a number of years back, and are kind of keen to close that chapter off with them, and our circle of friends. This place used to be the "party house" back in the day. LOL, so we've gotta give it one last hurrah. Housewarming will be ace - but probably in the new year after everything is completed outside post-handover. Yes that rent and mortgage together is a killer. It certainly is, however, it's only for a somewhat short period of time, and so many people seem to be able to do it.| How far are you in your build progress?
