Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 261Dec 31, 2013 2:27 pm I dealt with a conveyancer in Picton and she reckons ours was all good. She went through all the costs etc but it was what we had been told so signed up It is huge hey. Which block are you looking at? Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 262Dec 31, 2013 3:06 pm Highlands - going to go through Contract myself as our office is closed. Checking Mines Subsidence this week - sure it will be o'k. Every time we drive out there it has a real nice feel about it. Block won't be registered until June/July Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 263Dec 31, 2013 7:04 pm Welcome joandandy, We used a conveyancer in Camden and he also said it was the largest contract he has ever seen! And he looked pretty old....lol Everything in the contract for us was fine tho. Good luck Renee Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 264Jan 03, 2014 9:02 pm Hi, Have just found this forum so thought I would join. We are building in Greenbridge Drive with Fairmont Homes. Our construction started on the 20th of August. Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 265Jan 04, 2014 1:34 pm fliss+renee Hey brad, was does ONT stand for? And if you don't mind me asking, what sort of prices does telstra charge per month to have internet, tv and home phone connected?? I didn't know that we can't get free to air tv if we don't get the telstra thing.... We have our mobiles which are currently prepaid with the Aldi plan and we only use the data on that... So was hoping to get away with not needing telstra for a while, but if we can't get free to air tv, then I guess I better! Hi Girls Did you get a data package with MJH for your TV and data points? Cheers Brooke Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 266Jan 04, 2014 5:26 pm Hey Brooke, I don't think we chose any packages.... We just had the fibre optics/ hubs included in our tender which I think from memory was a few grand??? How are you guys going? You must be so close to moving in! Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 267Jan 04, 2014 5:53 pm Hey guys, Our home phone and internet (200gb) is about $100 a month. We just got foxtel too- have never had it before but I love it. We booked telstra a month out. They had trouble with our connection so it took them weeks to fix the problem- they actually got our tv/internet connection running the day we moved in- yay. They will need to go inside but we just told our SS we needed the house open that day and we let Telstra guy in. Welcome Chantelle and Jason. You will love it in Bingara. It is beautiful and peaceful and the people here are really nice. What stage is your house up to? Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 268Jan 04, 2014 5:58 pm Hi B & K, Thankyou we can't wait to move in. Find ourselves driving through so often haha. Our house progress is going well. Our bathrooms were just finished being tiled before Christmas and hubby is doing the fit out of vanities, toilets, tapware and laundry sink over the holidays (he is a plumber and Fairmont allowed him to do all his own plumbing). I'm confused as to what you guys are talking about sorry, do you need to pay Telstra to have free to air tv? The front of our house faces the side of yours. I think you also work with my mother in law sue? Our site supervisor told us we should expect to move in mid feb... We will see. How about you? Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 273Jan 13, 2014 10:34 am Hi all - we are now getting closer to exchanging on our block of land however when we went & had a look over the weekend it looks like the block will be sitting higher than we thought which is not a problem but it looks like we will have to put a retaining wall up now & driveway will be steeper than we thought. We thought we might try & negotiate a price reduction. Anyone had issues like this when they purchased land. Your feedback would be appreciated. Still get an a great feeling when we drive out there. Hi Chantelle Yes I do work with Sue - different departments but same hospital - its a small world. I knew one of the Fairmont homes was Sue's son's but wasn't sure which one and now I do !!! WE got told yesterday our final Inspection has been booked for Wed 22nd Jan with an occupation certificate to be issued by the end of the same week and then hopefully handover 2-3 weeks after that. We may be moving in on the same day !!!!! Least the boys can help each other if we do Be nice to know our neighbours Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 275Jan 18, 2014 8:53 pm Hi Chantelle Yes I do work with Sue - different departments but same hospital - its a small world. The builder recently told our neighbour who is using the same builder and up to the same stage roughly, that hand over is approx 5-7 weeks away. Really hoping we are in by the end of feb. Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 277Feb 06, 2014 4:10 am Hi everyone, just a heads up so no-one else gets caught out. We are building and are having massive issues. Please inbox me and let me know who you are thinking of using. I won't name on open forum or disclose facts as we don't need any issues and if it's not him I won't say who it is but if it is, I will suggest you may wish to do your own homework which won't be hard as it is now common knowledge in the local and wider industry as it is so bad! Please don't mention names here if you know.
Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 279Feb 06, 2014 7:45 am Hi Nectar - I am new to this but what does NCAT stand for. We are about to exchange on a block of land in Bingara then build with a well known builder! I love reading all this information. It is very helpful. I understand what you mean about naming people. Don't want a defamation claim against any of us unles its true! Re: Building in Bingara Gorge 280Feb 06, 2014 8:34 am Hi BradS that is something that would be debated in court I am sure! Apparently it is only defamation etc if it is not true, well this problem is true and proven but hey I am not prepared to find out just yet! I have offered to say a yes or no if you inbox me, that will be enough to help people out as I am sure they will know who it is already based on their own experience just getting a correct tender and drawings. joandandy NCAT (old CTTT with a new name) is the tribunal (court) that hears consumer matters. It is the step above Fair Trading. The public can see what matters are being heard on the daily hearing lists which state both name of applicant (owner) and respondent (builder) published on the NCAT web site and then a transcript of the hearing and ruling is also made public. A very silly thing to do to fail to settle out of court and let it go that far. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11826 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21614 |
