Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 241Mar 04, 2014 7:17 am Oh and in reply to the other question, we're most likely building with kurmond. We have had one meeting and will soon pay them to draw some plans. It must be so exciting for everyone close to starting the build! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 242Mar 07, 2014 9:11 am Congrats Sunrise on your approval. Dreamhome our builder told us his last submission took 3 weeks in council. He is ringing them today and we are hoping that we get approval from council on the 12th. Maybe I'm being optimistic but I am hoping that our slab gets started by 24th March. I don't think we have any paper work to do that would slow it up. We haven't told our 3 younger children that we are building (11, 13, 14) as we want to surprise them the day the slab goes down. We have kids doing Yr 12 exams and school camp week of 17th so here's hoping the slab can go down the following week. We have been keeping this a secret from the kids since last July and its getting really hard not to tell them. I'm going to do a big pass the parcel with blindfolds in the middle and we will blindfold the kids and take them to the block - oh fun Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 243Mar 07, 2014 9:13 am Congrats Sunrise on your approval. Love the pass the parcel idea! Hope you get your slab soon! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 245Mar 07, 2014 7:38 pm Wow, I don't know how you kept that secret for so long! We are so excited and also had to take the kids to all the houses to have a look. They picked a room in every house we went into lol. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 246Mar 07, 2014 7:48 pm Thanks Joejulesx. We are so happy. We signed off today for no other changes. eden brae are putting the final package together for us to do final sign off for building. We are waiting on the bank to approve the build start. Hopefully we will get a start in April. It would be nice to have a slab curing over Easter. Your secret keeping is fantastic. The kids will love it. How cool. Council told us they had a backlog. Ours was with them for just over two months including Christmas. I really hope your builder gets them going and you get to give your kids a great surprise soon. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 247Mar 08, 2014 11:20 am OMG! Little 5h1ts hanging around the end of Binyang this morning! I have just made a police report and left a message for J in the office. I hope they do something about security up there, because what I just saw was disgusting! The fence of the worksite up there was open, foam stuff has been broken up and laying all over the road and the portaloo has been knocked backwards. If the builder has not secured the site, the SS will be getting an angry phonecall very soon, I'm sure! I would be ropable! J will apparently be going up to have a look and make sure the site is secured as soon as he is finished with his clients. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 248Mar 08, 2014 11:46 am AiryFairy - I saw it too its disgusting. 2nd time I have seen it like that. The first was a couple of weeks ago after a storm so I though maybe it was the weather but no denying it today. Disgusting!!! Joejulesx - Wow you have kept the build a secret. I'm impressed! My poor boys have had almost 2 years of land/house hunting and are completely over the house now. Now when we go to display homes to look at colours, tiles etc they take their ipads and sit on the closest lounge until we are finished. We live in Glenmore Park and if we are driving and make a turn towards MR they roll their eyes and we hear 'not the land again' lol Hopefully it will be different when the build really starts. This sounds exactly like us! We have a 13 (almost 14) year old who is completely over it. The youngest one (3) still likes to go past the block of land. We are renting in Glenmore Ridge after selling our home so it is very easy to make the detour. I'm looking forward to actually seeing something. Four red pegs were put in by the surveyor the other day. Does this count? Lol. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 250Mar 08, 2014 1:04 pm Airy Fairy... I'm hoping something changes soon. What happened to that "iDetect" stuff that was in the estate? Has that finished now? We need some Police to buy land in the Estate. My old street had three Police Officers (one up high in the Police) so we didn't have any trouble - even with a park across the road. Maybe I should drop some Mulgoa Rise pamphlets down to the LAC. Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 251Mar 08, 2014 3:14 pm Might be a good idea dream-home. I might duck in to see Jeff tomorrow as well. There are quite possibly police nearby, but since not much has started, they might not come along enough. I don't know what this iDetect is. Some sort of security? I had assumed there would be, but I'd also assume that the tradies would chain up their work site! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 253Mar 09, 2014 8:11 pm Security is really lacking at the moment. The small trees are constantly being up-rooted. I saw the portaloo almost tipped over today. Worrying since our block is right up the end of Binyang. I've also seen people set off the iDetect sensor and the alarm go off but no body ever came to investigate. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 254Mar 10, 2014 12:16 pm I am also building on Bluestone Drive. We are building an Allworth (Altona) home. We are still waiting on registration of land which is very frustrating to us, as it was meant to be January/February. Still nothing! Can anyone enlighten me to what is happening with this. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 255Mar 10, 2014 1:22 pm We are also waiting Bluestone. Like you we were told Jan - last I heard was mid March. I am waiting for my solicitor to get back to me with an update Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 256Mar 10, 2014 1:39 pm Thanks twhjc2014, glad i am not the only one. Yes i am also waiting on Solicitor to get back to me. Frustrating! We get to do our internal colours this weekend so hopefully things get moving soon. We are currently living with the in-laws so a bit squishy with young kids. lol. Wonder if you are one of our neighbors? Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 257Mar 10, 2014 3:41 pm Hi, we have been reading this forum for a while so decided to join. We are also building in Mulgoa Rise, Bluestone Dr. As with everyone we are frustrated with waiting for the Land registration and the vandalism in Binyang. We are looking into erecting a a fence around our block once the main fence comes down to try and avoid the ?dumped dirt as per the 4 loads on the block at the top of Binyang. We are building an Allcastle Home and they are ready to go - all colours, plans etc passed thru Mulpha and now waiting for acceptance to council - Rego, Rego Rego!!!!!! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 260Mar 10, 2014 6:37 pm Hi Goodlife. Dont worry about the price on your rates - its the value of the "undeveloped" land and you actually want this price to be low - council charge your "rates" based on this value so the more the value the higher your rates are for the exact same service. As long as your bank value is the same or a bit higher thats all that matters. Its a shock the first time you receive a notice and see that though Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 25848 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 18783 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10871 |
