I just read that you had a black wrx, and I my girlfriend told me that you were moving into Carlingford, and I kinda remembered your name. Yeah, I live on Wodonga as well. =) Well anyhow, this is probably a weird place to be talking about this. Did anyone provide their flooring plans to Cedar Woods when they had to submit it to the board to be approved before building? I initially chose Timber flooring in the plan but have now decided to use Bamboo flooring, would this be a problem? Hopefully they don't have to pull it out like that fence that shouldn't have been there... Re: Carlingford Estate 243Sep 01, 2010 2:37 pm Eliza, OMG, thanks for letting us know. Geoff and l wanted to put some crushed rock. Do you know when the new law comes into affect? Xpire, congrats, where abouts on Murphy Street are you ? RE: Flooring plans. As far as l know; the flooring shouldn't be an issue. When Cedar Woods do their inspection they don't go in the house, only look from the outside to see if you've met the design guidelines. Re: Carlingford Estate 244Sep 01, 2010 3:21 pm Hi everyone... at the moment the house has just finished being tiled, walls been painted etc. etc. so fingers crossed that we are not that far from handover. Fencing, it is for free. Procedure is: once you get the occupancy certificate, you need to fill out the intent to occupy forms, post to Cedar Woods. The wait period is about 4-6 weeks. l know someone for blinds, but not landscaping. We're doing our own landscaping. Re: Carlingford Estate 251Sep 03, 2010 3:46 pm BLINDS * We are getting rollers [blockout and screens] my main research is around that. Hello Gacho and rest who may benefit, By all means get quotes and do some reference check that will assist.. My personal favourite iseekblinds.com.au for rollers/hollands for couple of reasons. a.) it is been referred by one of the guys at Carlingford. b.) there prices are very competitive. c.) they get producers discounts, which they build into blinds. You can get online quote. d.) they only take two weeks to build the blinds. e.) their factory is in Thomastown and the owner Michael Gubby, he knows what he is talking, you have to see their factory to believe they do quality work. Most importantly you will be dealing with somebody local. Except Curtains they do everything. Nunzio, got a contact for Plantation Shutters. [www.psk.net.au/] there prices were very competitive for Plantations. I found Whittlesea Drapes and American Drapes in Thomastown for curtains nice people to talk to. Plus, there are two in Preston on high street, Europa and Vardar curtains.....established businesses but I did not do any reference check. Hope this helps. Thanks for all that info on blinds, been looking for Plantation and dual roller blinds. MurphyStreet Internet question was thrown in the past. Unfortunately, I do not know much. Companies operating? Preconditions if any like you should have existing line? Availability of Naked DSL / DSL without fixed line Not too keen on Telstra, they're probably the most expensive company to go with. If you take a look at http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au and put in your address, it should give you a list of the companies available in the area. However, I wouldn't recommend connecting up ADSL1/2 as we're extremely far from the Epping exchange and would experience shocking speeds... I'll call up Optus and see whether they'll do cable within the area. I'll let you guys know how it goes Re: Carlingford Estate 253Sep 06, 2010 9:00 am Xpire wrote - "Why didn't anyone from Cedar Woods tell me about this before? Go to the site/sales office on Kingsway Drive and they'll give it to you We sent off our forms as soon as we got our Occupancy Certificate, which was just before settlement with our builder, but l'm assuming with the big named builders it would be at or just after completion. Will have to pop by tomorrow to get my fence done asap. Do we have any say in the type of fence being put up, colour, height etc. ? Re: Carlingford Estate 255Sep 08, 2010 4:22 pm Xpire, the fences are all the same, treated pine and the same height. It's to keep consistency within the estate. Luckily it was included, as Mosiac have to pay for them. Re: Carlingford Estate 260Sep 18, 2010 6:54 pm Did anyone do the trenching for the telephone lines themselves? I called up Telstra two weeks ago and asked them, they said I had to call some contractors to get the trenching information. When I called up the contractors, they said they had to organise for someone to call me in a week before they could give me any information about trenching. It's been a week now and no one called me back, and Telstra is going to come out in a week to connect the line but might find that the trench hasn't been dug up! Is there a standard way to dig the trench, or does it vary depending on the land/location? I don't understand why Telstra couldn't organise all this for me, instead of me calling up a million other companies just to get the phone connected.
