The guys were awesome, working the whole long weekend despite our neighbour starting (another) fire with his ride on, and losing power from a nearby lightning strike! Excited to see what this week's progress is, considering we only had frames and a roof at the start of last week! Not sure if carpenters will still start fix tomorrow or not; no timber on site for them to do it yet. Cornices are complete and it looks great inside, except for the excessively large huntsman taking shelter from the weather and chasing the millipede invasion in our family room!! SM aiming to issue the fixing one at the same time, but they're a touch behind schedule for that. We have a LOT of cabinetry. For some reason I was unsubscribed from your thread ![]() Welcome (back) aboard Tribe! Hopefully very regular updates from here on - feels like we hit a bit of a lull indoors, so I'm keen to see progress speed along from here!! Also keen to get out of this damned rental and stop all the travelling for kinder runs.... Kiddies are doing well. Mr 4 turns 5 at Easter, and both he and Mr 3.5 are doing fabulously at kinder this year (4yo and 3yo kinder, same room, but Mr 3.5 only goes Thursdays). Miss 1 turns 2 three weeks after Mr 4's birthday, and has picked the worst time to climb out of her cot, so we've had to do a crash course in sleeping in a toddler bed. Been 1.5 weeks now of no sleep and it's killing me! Miss 6 weeks is a little dream! She got sick at 1.5wo and readmitted to hospital in the special care nursery, but thankfully recovered well and is perfectly healthy now. I think she may even have slept through last night!! Wish I could say the same for the other 3... DH still working hard to pay for the build (and kids haha). Need to check in on you - saw you got some new land! Any plans/builders in mind yet? Did you end up sticking with all the lighting you first chose? OMG we are struggling hugely to find a decent builder who doesn't charge the earth. Project builders are out as they wont allow the changes and room additions we need and custom builders are insanely expensive. We have our hopes pinned with one builder and the quote should be done by Sunday. Fingers crossed its on budget. We settle on our house on Wednesday ![]() Re: Metricon Denver 47 - Bricks and fixing 236Mar 29, 2017 6:39 pm Stupid tapatalk lost my reply!! No more kids Tribe. This shop is SHUT. Never to be reopened!!! Same lights. Even got a local sparky to install at half the rate the Metricon mob wanted, and includes a TV aerial. Chippies have been on site the past 2 days, and will be back next week once cabinetry gets installed (I'll come back to that). Archs and skirts are on, and doors hung/installed except our feature timber sliders to the sitting room. The plasterers set it up for an open entryway, so the chippies have to rip it out to install the framing.... Oh, and eaves 70% up - they are waiting on the brickies to finish. Oh, and the cabinetry. Found out the delay is because they want to redesign my WIR and WIP shelving design. Finally got plans today. Slight issue with the WIR, but major issues with their WIP changes. They have stuck support bars everywhere, including on my stone bench top next to the sink. I don't bloody think so. And do you think I could reach our BSC today to talk about it?! Grrr. Hopefully happening Monday. The excavation has been delayed a week as the brickwork hasn't finished, which has also delayed the site clean which we need to happen so our guy can get in there and level the driveway. Hasn't been too bad as the plumber has also been pushed back to the 10th to install the downpipes, which will be run straight to the water tanks and connected (but can't happen until our excavator levels the pad properly). But in good news, paint is going ahead this coming week regardless, so I'm excited to see how that comes together!! Internal fix complete except cabinetry (issues sorted, just waiting for install now). Rainwater tanks positioned and we got our front retaining fixed up and footings dug ready for the construction over easter. Looking like handover around 20th May at this point. Painter Monday for 10 days. Bricks cleaned Monday. Plumber Tuesday. First coat of render Thursday. Tiler 24th. Garage door 27th.
