We're also building the Emporio 430 in the South Eastern suburbs.
I have a question about installing the kitchen appliances, and would appreciate your insight..
We've procured our own appliances, just wondering who installs these for us? Would it be Mainvue? We've had a few discussions about this with our admin, but they blatantly refuse.
My worry is mainly with the concealed under mount range hood. We've got overhead cabinets, and I am not sure how will the range hood get installed after the cabinets are fitted (as MV will allow installation of appliances only after handover of the house)
Any suggestions?
Hi EC,
The general rule of thumb is that any appliances you procure yourself need to be installed after handover.
A couple of contributors have mentioned if you have the appliances delivered before handover the sparkies will just install
them when they are onsite to install the other items.
As we are installing flooring and a few other things after handover, I'd rather wait until after handover to install my appliances
to minimize the risk of theft. Given I will need to get a sparky in to fit a number of light fittings, it should not be too much extra to connect the wall oven given the wiring is all ready to go.
As for the rangehood, I'm no expert, however, Mainvue will install the flexible flue that is connected to the external vent so it should not be difficult to install after handover as long as the measurements are correct.
