Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Homes 221Aug 05, 2014 7:48 pm Whitlesea council took 16 days. But csn depend on their work load. Will take longer if they require amendments to your plan. But most big builders will be well versed in what is needed. I understand the total quotation is an estimate only because site costs not taken into accounts but for other items ie. adding aircon prov etc will change at tender? Re: Henley Homes 224Aug 06, 2014 5:57 pm Hi all, just letting you all know Homeone admin is giving out free double pass to the herald sun homeshow in aug. just need to pm them Re: Henley Homes 225Aug 06, 2014 6:30 pm TiVeena Hi all, was wondering when Henley provides provisional quotes, does prices for those items changes when come to tender? I understand the total quotation is an estimate only because site costs not taken into accounts but for other items ie. adding aircon prov etc will change at tender? They can. Especially if they have had price increases before tender. Take all your paperwork with you and argue for the better price. Re: Henley Homes 226Aug 08, 2014 2:29 pm First homeone post here.
After looking through so many display homes we kept coming back to Henely, I think we looked at the same house about 6 times in a week and we kept comparing the others we looked at to that so I think it was pretty clear that we loved it. We are doing a KDR and my goodness its costing a bomb. When we first started looking into it and other builder told us site costs would be $40-50K we thought no way. But as its turns out, yes way So the 10-15K needed for the actual demo and the $40 odd K for the site costs has already taken out a huge chunk from our budget. I went to Cosham today to see if we can get away with picking from all category 1 stuff to keep the price down. I think we can for almost everything except bricks. There is not a huge choice for cat 1 bricks hey! Even with a no cost façade and minimal upgrades we will be stretching it. The house we are wanting to build is the Monetery Q1 - hopefully we can make it work - Also I noticed the first payment was $850 to lock in the price. its now $1500 first payment then $1000 second payment then a further $1650 at tender to get site costs and its no fundable at that point. so we risk losing $2500 if our site costs are too high at that stage Re: Henley Homes 229Aug 08, 2014 3:04 pm I know, I kind of have my heart set on Austral Hawksburn which is cat4 - I hope its not too much for that option. I love the Daniel Robertson bricks but I'm guessing that's way out of our budget. I love the Daniel Robertson bricks but I'm guessing that's way out of our budget. We originally picked Austral Cat4 and that was priced at around $2200 (can't remember exact figure right now). We then changed it to Austral Cat3 and that's around $1200. [sneakersss] Re: Henley Homes 233Aug 11, 2014 2:35 pm Here's something that's fun to do... Try to get Henley to explain smart wiring to you for a Telstra Smart community.... Be prepared to be confused beyond recognition as each person tells you something totally different, I've been in IT for years now and they confuses hell outta me hahaa Re: Henley Homes 234Aug 11, 2014 4:24 pm lol I still have no idea what NBN thing we have. I couldn't understand it at all. Doesn't matter too much as the block doesn't even have NBN but given I got talked out of adding a telephone point as "the NBN data point can just be changed into one"…a little understanding would have been nice. Henley Homes 235Aug 11, 2014 5:47 pm NBN is much easier than smart community, you only have to deal with phone and data to each point. I have to deal with phone, data, tv an do foxtel all on same cable, I have 4 tv 2 foxtel and 6 phone/data points lol Re: Henley Homes 237Aug 12, 2014 1:36 pm They were 4 days early on ours.
