Hope it all goes smoothly for the move - do you need to do much after moving in? Thanks, Still have lots to do after hand over so probably wont be in for a few more weeks. Need to fix/finish kitchen (change a cupboard over, new stainless steal kickers and splashback install tiles install carpets install rainwater tank (being done in 2 weeks) then dont get me started on the outside Want to get this done asap as want to be in asap. Ha I think I may be dreaming, but definately in once floors are down Re: Building our dream home in Adelaide- PCI completed 223Aug 05, 2011 3:13 pm OMG O energy is doing my head in. I have been trying to get my Gas meter installed since Wednesday. I dont need my gas appliances connected yet as they wont be installed for another couple of weeks by licenced electricians, all i need is the meter installed. No one needs to be home all they need to do is go the the box, put it in and lock it up that is all. So OE on Thursday said they need to commission to put the appliances in (bull****- not true), then said sorry we have to do it all. So me getting quite P off at this stage especially being on hold for half hour said I will get back to them. So today contacted builder and she told me to contact APA directly as to which they replied you need to speak to O energy (see a pattern developing?). Then builder gave me their direct contact in APA and he couldnt help me as he needed a work order. So now have to call O energy back and speak to either a team leader of supervisor, stand my ground and tell them off- easier said then done for me. Re: Building our dream home in Adelaide- I hope bank coopora 226Aug 08, 2011 3:46 pm So we have hand over ready to go for Wednesday, Bank had their inspection this morning so hoping all has gone well. Does anyone know how we go about getting the bank cheque? It seems that if all goes smoothly it will be ready by Wednesday but that means the massive rush before hand over to get the cheque. Re: Building our dream home in Adelaide-Hand over TOMORROW! 227Aug 09, 2011 12:29 pm Well bank cooporated and should be picking up the cheque today or tomorrrow morning. YAY HAND OVER TOMORROW!!!!!!!! Cant believe it. It has been such a LONG journey and cant believe we survived it and still in good spirits. Was so nice over the weekend when people asked 'hows the house going' as we get all the time it was so nice to say its 'finished'. Well not quite but builders are finished. I am so excited, most things are organised now. We purchased a modula lounge, a 2 seater and 3 seater for the family room and 4 bar stools for the kitchen bench over the weekend. Absolute bargains under $2000 so basically the loung and family room are complete (except for small things). Wont be delivered until end of sep but that gives us pleanty of time and we can make do with the couches we have atm. Wasnt expecting to buy so much but at that price I couldnt say no. Champagne is in the fridge chilling as we speak! Re: Building our dream home in Adelaide-Hand over TOMORROW! 228Aug 09, 2011 12:45 pm Cool! Congratulations on handover Re: Building our dream home in Adelaide-HAND OVER DAY! 238Aug 10, 2011 12:11 pm So my stomache is in knots with both excitement and angst! I hope all the inspection points have been rectified and I can get the keys today (have my cheque in my hot little hand). I dont know how I feel.... this has been about 3 years since we decided to look for a house, 18months since we purchased our block and 6 months of building. I am so excited that its finished (well with the builders at least) but also anxious as still so much to do and this is the climax point I hope I am not disappointed. I will let you all know how I feel tonight after it is all finalized!
