SPH has advised me that the time for scheduling has reduced by 2 weeks.. to 2-4 weeks until slabs are down! I'm so excited that my vacant lot is finally going to have some concrete laid down. Btw, I'm building the floreat with SPH. Is anyone building the floreat too? Any pictures? I'm glad that so many of you are in the construction phase! How exciting! Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 227Oct 05, 2009 1:28 pm Rex I got a call back to organise our brickwork meeting for Wednesday For around 8.00 in the morning??? Not ESP, it's just that I have a tiling appointment with him at 7.00 - am guessing it's going to be the same guy. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 229Oct 05, 2009 6:39 pm How much time it takes once the slab is laid down and to start brickwork. As off now the scheduling deparment is taking 2 weeks to schedule the job. After that the plans would move to construction department. Any idea how much time they take to start earthwork on the block. Any idea how much time they take to start earthwork on the block. On my house, the first bricks were laid three weeks after slab down, at the neighbour's the bricklayers waited just the one week before they started. Can't help you with internal timetables, sorry .. I just took the view that SPH would let me know when they're ready. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 231Oct 05, 2009 9:15 pm It's been a 4.5 weeks for us and the bricks and everything isdelivered, but as of saturday (and assuming since we have our brickwork meeting on Wednesday) the walls haven't gone up yet. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 232Oct 07, 2009 12:17 pm Met our SS thismorning... good bloke who appears to be on the ball and we're on the same wavelength... so far so good. 16.SFC was it 'D.C.' you met with ? It was also nice when we saw the brickies there working away and our walls are half up Happy with the brickwork quality, and I was left red-faced when I queried the split bricks that I mentioned above and was told they're like that on purpose so the brickies can use 1/4 or 1/2 bricks for corners/ens of walls etc. The colour/type of bricks (Albany Cream) looks a little different to what we were expecting but nothing to complain about. Fingers crossed the walls will be done by the weekend! Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 236Oct 07, 2009 10:16 pm Rex hehe sounds like you will have your work cut-out for you over the xmas period... good luck with that! Yeah, have already been told not to expect any tradies to work for at least three weeks over the Christmas period. But, I have a lot of holidays, so can be (a little) patient. locus Wow, that's awesome... you must be excited! Can't wait to see some more pics Speaking of 'details' ... anyone know a lighting place with a good range of compact fluoro downlights? Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 237Oct 07, 2009 11:11 pm 16.SFC Not actually sure it has sunk in yet. I think it's mainly because that even though SPH finish in 6 weeks or so, it's going to take a while to get all the other 'details' done; two to three weeks just to have the flooring laid, and that will be the last thing we have done before moving in. Speaking of 'details' ... anyone know a lighting place with a good range of compact fluoro downlights? Who have you decided to do your flooring? timber ? Just asked DW, sorry can't help re. downlights. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 238Oct 08, 2009 4:19 pm 16SFC, Thats quiet exciting... definitely cant wait to see some new pics.. most of the stores don’t have any range in compact fluoro downlights. We found some at MMEM wholesale store on Newcastle Street, they carry a brand called pierlite. http://www.pierlite.com.au/au/119/downlights What flooring have you decided timer or tiles.. Rex, how are your walls coming up. Re: Anyone build/buildiing with Scott Park Home(perth) 239Oct 08, 2009 10:49 pm Rex Who have you decided to do your flooring? timber ? Am not sure if I have posted a copy of my plan ... and since I have already hijacked Tama's post, I may as well do a proper job of it! The dotted areas indicate raised ceilings. Thought you might be interested in what the Sales Rep said: They are so busy that Prestarts now are January, and that to allow them to catch up they are going to close their display homes from mid December for a month to slow down sales. I think that's a really good sign, as it shows they are doing really well and that they are prepared to do something to stop all the build times ballooning rediculously.
