Last year we had a few in the playground near the shop and the site where they're going to build the school. I think they must have had their nests in the old pine trees there, it wasn't a nice experience for my little kids. Haven't seen any so far this year. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2188Sep 17, 2011 11:46 am ![]() Hello ::smile:: Just wondering if anyone has accounted any swooping magpies in the aurora estate lately and if so where? all i know is its around the time Now for those birds start their swooping games ::frown:: I've been swooped by magpies in two places this season. The first is the large playground area between Shields St and Redding Rise (can't remember what the cross streets are but it's the park with the large fir trees, where the birds nest). The second place I've encountered protective parents is at the corner of Redding Rise and Rockfield Rd. There's a tree there with a nest in it. I often forget to carry it, but an umbrella is a useful tool, I reckon. The Aurora Convenience and General Store opened in June within the Creeds Farm Village, enabling residents to enjoy amenities such as a café, mini supermarket and delicatessen in one location. Prior to the store opening residents had to drive to Epping North to stock up on supplies. In addition to this the Roman Catholic Trust has signed an agreement to deliver a primary school on 3.06 hectares of land at Creeds Farm Village. The school is to be named Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop Catholic Parish Primary School and will be located on the corner of Redding Rise and Creeds Farm Lane with the remnant parts of the homestead and out buildings preserved and renovated to form part of the school. The Parish is currently looking for a School Principal with a decision anticipated by the beginning of 2012. Earlier in the year the Creeds Farm Living and Learning Centre also commenced operations providing a range of community and learning activities with an emphasis on sustainable living practices. While sales at Aurora continued to be solid, the project was impacted by delays in the opening of the new second display village and a softening housing market in the first half of 2011. A family fun day launched the second display village in April. The display village offers multiple living choices with 23 six, seven and eight-star designed energy-efficient homes by 11 of Victoria’s builders. The builders are Aker Homes, Carlisle Homes, Homes1, Metricon, Places (Porter Davis), Urbanedge, Burbank, Dennis Family Homes, JG King Homes, National Builders Group and Timeless Homes. The market process for the Aurora (former Northern) town centre is expected to commence in the second half of 2011, with a view to starting works on Stage 1 and the associated Community Activity Centre in 2012. At full development the Aurora Town Centre is planned to include two supermarkets and a department store as well as a library and community centre. It will also likely include a range of commercial, service and leisure uses such as cafes, restaurants, medium-density housing, some office space, a medical centre and car parking. As a result of a reassessment of the catchment area, VicUrban is currently developing a concept plan for a second (Southern) town centre/gateway, which is expected to have some retail and a focus on office space and retail showrooms. source: http://www.vicurban.com/cs/Satellite?bl ... rt2011.pdf Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2192Sep 18, 2011 4:05 pm Found this on VU website: Quote: Aurora Dream Home Campaign Terms and Conditions for Stages 19a & 19b and Stage 17 This is a strictly limited offer that will be available for a limited time from 6pm on Wednesday 21 September 2011. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2195Sep 19, 2011 10:54 am A question for those who are in "newer" stages (Stage 8 onwards) that have been hooked up to the fibre network for internet / phone / TV. When a tech comes over to install all the hardware in the cabinet, are you connected that very same day? If so, what about phones? When do you find out what your landline number is? When a tech comes over to install all the hardware in the cabinet, are you connected that very same day? Yes, Acherion. We are connected the very same day, if you have booked with a service provider already. For me, all the points throughout my house were active the day the hardware was installed. If so, what about phones? When do you find out what your landline number is? My phone started and my phone no was given to me when I received Bob and iinet called me for the setup of Bob. They took me through the whole process. Helped me to set up the phone and then gave me my phone number.
