Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2062Jun 07, 2011 9:25 pm Do you reckon they would fine you? Or just rip out and redo? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2064Jun 07, 2011 10:08 pm Just finish my 1st mail drop! So cold! Also manage to wander into Parklands Release 3A .... they are turfing along the kerb and I think also doing up the pathways. Could see loads of grass along Travers Street and The Parkway ... MW, your end of Parkway. Can anyone give me a run down of what to expect during land settlement? Can settlement be done through bank fund transfer? If settlement is say 22nd June, when should we inform the bank to make payment? Thank you Those building at Parklands Release 3A .... has anyone got Council building approval yet? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2065Jun 07, 2011 10:13 pm LOL Mecha, Geee that put a spanner in the works. I just read the whole guideline book and can't find any statement about the masonary/timber fence thingy, going to have to email the GF office tomorrow and ask for a copy of this statement. So if there is nothing stating this, why does 95% of GF have these fences on corner blocks, is it just the case of following like sheep or is it stated sonewher, because I can't find it ! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2066Jun 07, 2011 10:49 pm This is in the guidlines (page 20): "Fencing proposals should integrate colours and materials of the house and contribute to the streetscape quality. Forward of the building line, appropriate fencing materials may include a mixture of timber, masonry with rendered finish or other materials which match the dwelling." Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2067Jun 08, 2011 10:46 am YAY!!! We have developer approval and in record time, less than 24 hours. On another note rang LC today to see if we could find out our address 21 Travers Street. I like the sound of that. Happy dance to make up for all the S**T we are going through with our current landlord. Can not wait to be out of the rental game again. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2068Jun 08, 2011 11:07 am Oh gotta love landlords, Seriously...... Any way our plans have been submitted to LC (well thats what EBH have told us) I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Forward of the building line, appropriate fencing materials may include a mixture of timber, masonry with rendered finish or other materials which match the dwelling." Thanks silverdragon, this looks like the only wording in relation to masonary/timber side fence in the guidlines, and even that quote can be taken many different ways. Anyhow, off to the bank manager for more money to pay for it lol Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2070Jun 08, 2011 11:36 am Congrats Kballa, now the fun startes !!. Our landlord is the same, we have had no smoke detectors working for 3 months now, not paing the rent tomorrow if he hasn't fixed them. Our landlord is the same, we have had no smoke detectors working for 3 months now, not paing the rent tomorrow if he hasn't fixed them. Had the tribunal hearing today, even though we still have to get out he has to pay us $520 in compensation, a win for the little guy for once!!! lets hope for the same luck continues with regards to the recycling plant. by the way your build is coming along very nicely. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2072Jun 08, 2011 5:49 pm sloo888 - settlement cannot be done through bank transfer. I asked J this and was told no. Ask anyway. As for payment, we had our settlement date and organised the bank cheques prior to this and handed them to the conveyancer. He does the rest. Ask your convey/solicitor the exact amounts and who to. From memory we had to make out 4 cheques. MW - check the council site to see if and when yours was submitted. Kballa - Congrats on the next step! Our son will be 3 and a half in January 2012 when we hope to move in (we currently have a slab!) Your advice is most appreciated Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2078Jun 09, 2011 7:00 pm the house jack built hi to all,we are so looking forward to moving into Georges Fair and as we are coming from Wollongong - thought we were escaping the coal trucks!!!! lol(we both work in Sydney) we are seeking some recommendations re child care and swimming lessons. Our son will be 3 and a half in January 2012 when we hope to move in (we currently have a slab!) Your advice is most appreciated Hey, welcome to the forum. Can I assume your name is Jack? or at least call you Jack for short? Cool username by the way! Our 2 girls go to Your Kids Our Kids @ Chipping Norton. Great child care. Brand new (a few months old now). I recommend. There is another Your Kids in Moorebank but we preferred Chippo. Our girls go to Starfish swimming @ Prestons. We find that good also. Bit hard to compare as we haven't been anywhere else. With child care we have. One other place near where we used to live but either way we are happy with where they go now. If you'd like details let me know. Where abouts in GF are you building? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2079Jun 09, 2011 7:11 pm Welcome the house jack built! My son is 10 months and he goes to swimming at Bluefit at Hurstville. We love it there but it is about 40mins away from GF. As for childcare - you can speak to J as she mention to me that they want to build a carechild in GF - not sure when or if it will get approved, but i have put my son name down. Good luck! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2080Jun 09, 2011 7:55 pm Hi House Jack Built - I've also heard that Revesby is good for swimming lessons.
