Just in regards to the last picture, I notice that there is a skinny tile in the floor with difference sized grouting! :S Reading the Guide to Standard & Tolerances 2007, 11.06 Grout states:
Hi bunky............ha ha..............the thick grout line to which you refer is in fact only one of three we have in the entries to the wet areas. Our construction was held up for three weeks whilst we argued over this.....in fact before the tiles were laid and laid again a second time right throughout!!!
We have a metal waterproof barrier hidden in the grout line which apparently is to stop water escaping the wet areas into the passage!!!!

Despite our reference to display homes not having this "feature", we got nowhere. We even spoke to the building surveryor who backed 'S'. You obviously don't have this arrangement?? This also
created an issue of course with floor tiling, in that a full tile was not possible in the entry doorways to the bathroom, WC and laundry.
Re the plaster cornices ......... there apparently isn't a problem with the standard

Hence the need for Building Commission Victoria. These two issues represent a multitude of issues in regard to their standards. That's what I meant the other day when I said we couldn't see how much lower the standards could go when we were told we had to lower ours!

OMG SherWin that's unbelievable. Our houes does not have those skinny tiles at the entries to wet areas. They are simply full tiles from the hallway into the bathroom, laundry and WC. Even with the skinny tile - could they not simply cut it to size so to have the grout lines even close to a similar size to the rest of the tiles! it astounds me!
I'm glad that you are taking things to the building commission, it might turn out the same for myself seeing as 'S' is dealing with my issues the same as yours!

You mentioned you had tiles re-laid throughout your house?! why was this?? Did they readily agree to do this?? The reason I ask is I have issues with my tiles also, they aren't running parallel or square to the walls... either the wall isn't straight, or the tiles aren't laid properly.
Have a look guys and let me know if you'd accept this!?

This is the Meals and Living room area. It's open plan and this is a picture running along the north wall of the house. (the house faces west).

From the far wall end of the above picture, the tile has been cut to approx 25.5cm to fit flush against the wall.
