Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 201Dec 24, 2016 3:27 pm I like the vertical too. Our kitchen guy said our wood could only go in one direction. Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 202Dec 27, 2016 10:07 am Looks good. Vertical lines draw the eye upward and horizontal draw the ideas sideways. It might be the only way it goes??? Worth asking. Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 203Jan 03, 2017 10:10 am I flew up last week as I had some family stuff to attend. No changes since the previous pics, but I noticed some silly things: 1) Main bathroom tap heights, the sinks we have chosen have a tap hole... these look to be wall mounted... seriously!? Then ensuite is correct.. BAH Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 2) Study power point height, its way above where the desk is and also they have a cutout for a power point behind the drawers..... I really like what's in the above photo, but always nice to have the option of them replacing it since it was their mistake lol GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 205Jan 03, 2017 2:02 pm Ah how frustrating good you noticed them early so they can be fixed without trouble, and agree those stack stones do look nice very natural looking, what was your original choice? Did you walk through with the ss or do you have your own access? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Interesting though, they requested the enclosed progress payment even through the cladding hasn't been finished. The payment already went through the bank. I read our contract and it states that enclosed stage is all external wall cladding is fixed. Any thoughts on this?? Should I call / follow up? Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 209Jan 17, 2017 8:46 pm Re payments I think they all tend to be overly prepared when it comes to getting their money lol we get the invoices the day things are due to finish too and if you don't feel comfortable paying until it's completed you are well within your rights to hold off. For now I will pay as they are pretty close to complete when they send them but the last payment I will have a cheque so I can take it back if it's not completed correctly save any further issues. Well that's the plan anyway Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 211Jan 30, 2017 9:55 am Hey Ads, just catching up. Yay for your garage door How's the build going? How many weeks has your build been now? I asked the builder to send me weekly photos. they reckon they will be finishing at the end of feb (As per contract) I am seriously doubting this, but I need dates!!! Want to get a PCI / inspection date. We are trying to sort out removalists etc. We will be looking to move on the 28th feb. I told the builder that if they need more time, that's fine, just tell me. But he said that it's all good. My mrs last day at her work will be 24th Feb. My company will let me work remotely for 3 months also but need to sort out internet etc still. I believe this is about week 20 i think from start date, but like 28 weeks since contract signing. Our contact stats 231 days to PC We sold a bunch of stuff on gumtree this weekend and have started to slowly pack. It's sooo stressful! Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 213Jan 30, 2017 5:42 pm Yay for tiles!! Hopefully you get photos soon to share My word, sounds very stressful with trying to get communication from them Have scheduled a trip up there yet? Will email SS tomorrow again to follow up Good thing is, if the house is delayed I can stay at friends houses Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 215Jan 30, 2017 5:49 pm I thought they were good with communication after emailing the GM, can you email him again? Hopefully you won't need to stay with friends but I'm glad you have that option if needed GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 216Jan 30, 2017 7:35 pm Oh wow ads! You guys are moving in there?? It was meant to be investment, but plans changed around xmas time Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 218Jan 31, 2017 1:14 pm Couple photos from builder(more.tomorrow), they are trying to get us to do handover&inspection on the same day! I really don't want them to fix after we get the keys. Maybe we do the inspection and then not accept they keys till its fixed?? Thoughts? Not 100% sure on the tiling.. Sure it will look better once fully grouted and furniture.. If that were mine (without knowing why they've done it like that) i'd be asking for that to be changed. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: First Build - GJ Gardner - Modified StillWater 220Feb 05, 2017 12:47 pm I love the Frosty Carina caesarstone benchtops!
