Visited the site today to meet the electrician was doing second fix. We are now so close with the walls painted, bathrooms only requiring the cornices to be installed, appliances to be installed in the kitchen and floor coverings. So we should be in early next year and well ahead of schedule.

I will upload pictures to our blog tonight?

Builder is now on holidays until mid January! So now it is time to focus on sourcing post construction items. Not really looking forward to furniture shopping!!! Mind you the home theatre is another story but I'm sure my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm?

I think that takes up an other 10% of the build price. We need to finalise and finish our lights during these holidays. Have you got quotes for your blinds and landscaping

10% is about right! Haven't done anything on blinds or landscaping yet. Don't have a clue re the blinds as to what to get. The landscaping will be mainly grass with a couple of garden beds. I may tackle this myself but the boss won't move in without grass. Dirt, kids and new houses don't mix?

With the builders away we took a last minute week away to Port Macquarie and got back last weekend. Painters have been back to do touch ups and did a drive by today and it looks like they have cleaned all the windows etc. Hopefully this is a sign of the final push to finish.

Hi Raina,
Yes it was very relaxing. Had great weather and did plenty of swimming with the kids. Floors are still to be done. The timber floors are being done by the carpet company so I assume they will be done together. Given that they have cleaned inside I assume it won't be too far off!

We have continued to have good progress and the timber floors and appliances are now in. I have uploaded a couple photos to our blog that I got through the windows because I missed the tradies.

We also were notified of our final walk through is in 2 weeks with handover in early March (6 or 7 weeks ahead of the contract).

WOW Finnerz, great to see you almost at the finish line! I love seeing your pics, it's handy to see a similar build to ours almost done. The wife and I enjoy seeing your progress and are really happy to hear that you're so far ahead of schedule.

Thanks we are excited. Overall from what we have seen we are happy with the quality. Looking forward to getting the landscaping done so we can sit back and relax!!!!

PCI went well. A number of minor things to be done but all should be good for handover on 2nd of March.

Hi guys,
Got word last weekend that the display homes @ Kellyville Homeworld have changed hands from Alkira Homes.
So this morning I tried to call both the Sales & Construction office numbers and was played a message stating the office hours of 'Mon-Fri 9am-4pm - please call back then'...

Does anyone have any info on what's currently happening with Alkira Homes?
