Have you noticed all the action is on our side of Vedro and there seems to be virtually nothing on the other side? Really Weird. Interested to know your experiences goin from contract signing, through the peet approval and council permit stages, to the start of your build. How long did it take you to make it through this process? How much did your builder keep you informed of what was happening? I'd love to compare and contrast this to my experiences Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 203Jul 31, 2013 8:40 pm hey ES given your land has titled and you've signed your contract it should not take long. Only thing holding you up would be a plan resubmission to PEET. Even then it shouldn't take any longer than an extra week.
Are MainVue giving you the runaround? Usually a few persistent calls and/or emails should sort it. 2 Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 205Jul 31, 2013 9:54 pm ![]() Gaurav and Tracey... I guess won't have time to visit before Saturday, good to know that your frames are going well .. You should be expecting roof next week I guess ![]() Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 206Jul 31, 2013 10:04 pm ![]() Hi all. Interested to know your experiences goin from contract signing, through the peet approval and council permit stages, to the start of your build. How long did it take you to make it through this process? How much did your builder keep you informed of what was happening? I'd love to compare and contrast this to my experiences Hi ES, In our case, it took us 6 weeks to start build after our land was titled. The time consuming part is Peet approvals. If there are minor issues your builder wont have to update the drawings, so it wont be time consuming. Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 207Aug 01, 2013 7:13 am Yeah tomorrow will be 4 weeks since contracts were signed. At contract signing, MV told us that they had already submitted plans to peet for approval. In the past four weeks all we have heard is that the plans have been followed up and they will let us know when there is an update. So yeah just waiting, I just wish MV would let me know what was happening. It would be really nice to know. I spoke to peet who said they plans were not approved and sent back to MV. I assume MV must be flat out, I've sent afew nice emails and had no reply. I might try call soon Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 208Aug 01, 2013 7:46 am Sorry ES... I only just realised that you only signed 4 weeks ago. That all sounds fairly normal then. If as you say there are issues with the plans your builder/admin will rectify them promptly. I agree though. The whole plan approval thing is a pretty bad waiting game. We had to re-submit for retaining wall dispensation but our admin had it rubber-stamped within the week. From what I'm seeing the only one thing that can delay you further is garage wall height (only if it's too high). That gets tricky because it requires council/neighbours approval. Hang in there. You should be right any day now. ![]() Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 209Aug 01, 2013 10:59 am Wow I am a little bit Jelly that its all moving along so quickly for you all in Stage 7, we haven't heard about our place yet with regards to the garage wall height, I think the block to our right has just been sold which means maybe things can happen a little quickly. Keep up the quick building and next time i am in Melbourne our little Aston will actually look like a community ![]() Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 210Aug 04, 2013 12:24 pm Hey guys been quiet the last few days hope it's cause everyone is down at their blocks watching the build. AB I hear you have the dreaded man flu, I have it also except the female version, and it has wiped me off my feet that is for sure. Haven't been at work for a few days, lucky it's a public holiday here tomorrow. Does anyone know their street number yet? And if so where did you find out from? I don't know why but I really want tools what number we are? Enjoy your Sundays Sam Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 211Aug 04, 2013 1:57 pm Haha hi Sam.... Yer whole family is doing it tough ATM. I've been shocking for around a week now. Didn't think you tropical guys would see it much ... Hope you're on the mend. ![]() We have our house number !! It's six. Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 213Aug 05, 2013 9:46 am we found out when the bank sent us our finance documentation for the construction. it had the street number on it... Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 214Aug 05, 2013 3:03 pm ThAnks empty space, We haven't see anything yet and all finance is approved so just thought I would ask. As we live interstate I always google land in aston and find it strange that I can see our street Vision Rd but not Vedro Rd or many of the others, hoping to see the place come to life soon Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 215Aug 05, 2013 4:02 pm Hi All, Long time no talk.. My two cents worth on a couple of topics going around. Our time from land title to site start was about 9 weeks. Our contract appt was back in February but we had to wait til May for the land to title. Sam, I rang the Hume Council and gave them my lot number and they told me the house number, real quick and easy. I too was keen to know the number, its a girl thing ![]() Our build is coming along nicely. Prepping for the slab to go down this week. Found a few more rocks but not quite the boulders that AB had! Can't believe how quickly Gaurav & AB are moving along down the road. Not that its a competition or anything ![]() - Tracey Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 216Aug 05, 2013 4:13 pm Hey Tracey... good news on the rocks. I thought you may have gotten away with none ?? Oddly enough we just got those two whoppers and not a single stone after that ?? ![]() My wife was relieved when we got our number (you're right a girl thing). She was highly worried we'd be number 13. Sure would have explained those boulders though. ![]() Enjoy the ride !! Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 217Aug 05, 2013 7:30 pm We finally have our developer and council approvals!!! Some changes had to be made but.so excited yo hopefully have some action on our block. All our material has been ordered too. Just waiting for a start date now. Hopefully it won't be a long wait.
