Ouchies, 6K for flooring... What type of flooring did you get?
We're having polished concrete floors (nil exposure, matt finish) and it's costing us $5,024 for an area of approx 128m2

We upgraded the floor tiles which was a substantial cost of around 6K... that didn't include our bathrooms, so we shall wait and see. We are only wanting to go tile to ceilings for the showers. But will depend on the price we get back. Ouchies, 6K for flooring... What type of flooring did you get? The only wall tile I even remotely like though in the standard range is the Euphoria Cement. But I think standard range is our only option if we want the higher tiles.. budget budgets! Have no idea on the floor tiles yet though. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ahhhh! so purty! that will look awesome! We went with the upgraded Exile Charcoal (a darker grey) though in the end because we wanted a bigger contrast between the floor and walls, plus more contrast in floor between our polished concrete main flooring to the bathroom floors. We're having polished concrete floors (nil exposure, matt finish) and it's costing us $5,024 for an area of approx 128m2 what?! Damn we should have gone polished concrete! That was the cost from standard to premium. We couldnt find anything we liked at beaumonts, so we just chose a simple 600x600 polished porcelain tile in grey at national tiles... it actually was a cheap one! i think once you choose the bigger tile, the price seems to jump... especially if you want porcelain because of the extra labour involved. Valeco Homes 25Jul 30, 2017 9:32 pm Also has anyone upgraded to another ceasarstone? If so.. how much did they charge? Re: Valeco Homes 26Jul 30, 2017 9:42 pm I think it ended up being $520 to upgrade our kitchen backbench, 1m wide island and 1 side waterfall to snow (all 40mm) We kept bathrooms to standard Re: Valeco Homes 27Jul 30, 2017 9:43 pm breebarter Also has anyone upgraded to another ceasarstone? If so.. how much did they charge? Yes, We upgraded our kitchen benchtops to Fresh Concrete Caesarstone (which is one range above standard). The cost would depend on the area it needs to cover I think... but hopefully the following helps: Upgrading our kitchen island to 1200m wide: $485 Upgrading kitchen benchtops to 40mm (add on promo price): $890 Upgrading to Fresh Concrete Caesarstone: $1,570 All of the above didn't cover the butler pantry benchtop (we had a little hiccup with this, they forgot to include the price for bench/cupboards in our butlers pantry - when we thought it was already included in our base price when they did up the plan - long story short it all got sorted out for a negotiated price) Re: Valeco Homes 28Jul 30, 2017 9:46 pm gr8ly what?! Ah yes, I believe you are right - extra labour costs for 600x600. Damn son! Haha Re: Valeco Homes 29Aug 05, 2017 10:45 pm We have slab pour booked for the end of next week. It's all happening so fast! Prob going to be just short of Xmas hand over though which will really annoy me if we are nearly down and then they stop for the Xmas shut down. What build time did you guys get in your contract? Our states must reach PCI 216 days after commencement, which is 01/03/2018. I sure hope it's quicker than that! 🙈 Re: Valeco Homes 30Aug 09, 2017 7:03 pm Got to meet our SS onsite yesterday. seemed really lovely, and happy to answer any questions we had, including the ones I had once we left and I panicked because I wasn't sure if I had asked an earlier one correctly! He confirmed on track for slab on Friday so that's a plus. Hoping the construction stage is less stressful than our planning stage was! Can't wait for you to start building! We went out to our block on Sunday, and they are slowly starting to scrape the extra fill they placed onto our block (our block is higher up on the hill) down onto the blocks below. Whilst we were out there we saw a Valeco sign in the street next to ours, on the same size block, so it will be nice to see a house so close being completed. I'm glad you got off to a good start with the SS! I just realised you meant your developer was doing the scraping. Re: Valeco Homes 38Aug 11, 2017 10:30 pm We recieved full working drawings this afternoon, quite a few changes will need to be made when we meet with our sales consultant tomorrow, not sure how they could get some things so wrong? For example concrete on complete opposite sides.. and weird window placements/heights of things. Did anyone else have a similar experience? For example concrete on complete opposite sides.. and weird window placements/heights of things. Did anyone else have a similar experience? YES! our working drawings were completely wrong... they made changes based on what they thought would work better which i found extremely weird! for example complete relocation of the study, and dimensions of some rooms, such as hallway and bedroom. Also towel racks sitting in the middle of windows, light switches in the most odd places. They are currently changing it back to our original signed plans. I guess working drawings reveal their understanding of what we want.. Good opportunity to see exactly what needs to be fixed though. Can we see your plans? Wow, relocation of the study, come on Valeco! Jeez On the other hand, they did put a few extra things in such as overhead cupboards/bulkhead/splashback to butlers which wasn't included and not in our contract price, we were going to ask for them but it seems they jumped the gun. I wonder if they are going to put them in as a variation and get us to sign a price? Also I'm not loving the heat lamps they added in our bathrooms? Yes, I think I'm going to start my own thread tomorrow so I will put our plans and some working drawings up I would never build with Fowler homes.
