I leave the finishes to her and she leaves construction to me. So far I have had issues and she hasn't. Maybe she is the smart one. Anyway, just do your best for the best outcome. Sometimes it just comes down to budget too. Sometimes knowledge and sometimes vigilance. Don't stress too much. Enjoy the experience and love your home at the end then get on with other things in life as some people have a cupboard box as a house to live in. Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 25Nov 13, 2015 11:34 am Picking colours and finishes is still no easy task! Haha but easier to fix if there's a mistake. But definitely keeping an eye on construction can't hurt! Just went for a drive past our street that's under construction (Royal Court is what it will be called ), people and utes and trucks and dirt everywhere. A big digger, lots of concrete and pipe looking things, I'm not very good with the technical terms but it looks like progress to me Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 26Nov 13, 2015 11:46 am The big thing with the pipe is concrete being poured for a slab and or piers from the concrete pumping truck. The concrete trucks empty their concrete into the pumping trucks for delivery to the site. Busy places when a new stage for housing opens. It is go go go. Excavators do the earth works. Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 27Jan 17, 2016 5:42 pm It's been a while, hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and new year! We're very much looking forward to the year ahead! The subdivision our block is in is well under way, in the picture below you can see the cut out for the road! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It seems to be flying along, mostly because it's just one court as compared to the other bigger estates around Warrnambool. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There's a lot of dirt. The grass is very dry. We've had a few total fire ban days which have probably caused delays. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Big diggers, or 'escavators' as goody pointed out these pictures were taken from the block 11 side. I'm also from Warrnambool, building with Simonds and I'm purchasing in Royal Court also. Number 19 is my block. Ive been told April for settlement on the block. Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 29Feb 09, 2016 3:48 pm Mormax Just wanted to pop in to your thread and say Hi. I'm also from Warrnambool, building with Simonds and I'm purchasing in Royal Court also. Number 19 is my block. Ive been told April for settlement on the block. Hey neighbourino! Wow April?! I emailed the real estate agent today to see how things are going. He hasn't got back to me yet, but we went for a sticky beak yesterday, (there's a bit of a foot path that's been cut into the grass around the back) and it still looks like there's a bit to do. I did hear there was another Simonds build on the street, which house are you building? Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 30Feb 10, 2016 10:34 am My plans are for the Como. I am flipping the plan for the block. My info re settle ment comes from Kellie from Ray White. Text message last Thursday where she says that the developer expects to finish construction in two months, then allowing another month to complete paperwork etc.... hoping for late April. I think there is another simonds house as well ... I think number 10 ??? but I could be wrong. My parents live around the corner so I've been checking the site regularly also. I havent been around the back as yet though. Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 31Feb 10, 2016 10:48 am Ah we're dealing with Chris from Ray White, he answered this morning and said April as well, that's alright just gives us more time to save for more house stuff . I love the Como! Good choice, That was my second choice but the Hudson fit our block better. Having the main bedroom and the back makes a lot of sense to me haha. Is Nicole your CRC as well? Oh and what facade did you pick? Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 32Feb 11, 2016 8:27 am Hello again Yes, Nicole is my CRC as well. Going with the Kyoto facade, but unfortunately without the the layered bricks as they are an extra 10K. Will get the box bay rendered in the future. Not sure how well the Como really fits my block ... I wont have very much yard space (which suits me) and I've had to compromise with my alfresco because of that 2 metre easement .... I first saw the Como about 5 years ago (3 different displays - 2 in Ballarat and 1 in Melbourne) and decided the floor plan suited me the best. Having lived in a house with the main bedroom at the back for 10 years that was a must for me. Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 33Feb 13, 2016 5:09 pm Wow 10k for those pretty bricks, that's dear! Yeah we have the same idea, their rendering was pretty expensive too! We have the easement too, which is a bit of a bugger but I just love the spot. Are you going to start a thread for your build mormax? I'd love to follow your build once we get up and running! Haha Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 34Feb 17, 2016 2:52 pm I'm also building in Warrnambool (although not with Simonds) and I didn't even know your estate existed. It's nice flat land out that way though which should be good Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 35Feb 17, 2016 5:30 pm SileNceR I'm also building in Warrnambool (although not with Simonds) and I didn't even know your estate existed. It's nice flat land out that way though which should be good This is exactly why I put Warrnambool in my thread name, I knew I couldn't be the only one building in Warrnambool on here who's your builder silencer, and where are you building? Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 36Feb 17, 2016 6:49 pm We're going with Warrnambool Builders / Novara Homes as I did the design myself so a project builder wasn't really suited. Our block is a strange shape. We're in Shaw St in Wollaston Way estate, right down the end on the left. I've started blogging it at http://www.yourbuilds.com Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 37Feb 17, 2016 7:05 pm SileNceR We're going with Warrnambool Builders / Novara Homes as I did the design myself so a project builder wasn't really suited. I look forward to following your build when do you plan to start building? Building Simonds Hudson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80646 Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 38Feb 18, 2016 9:14 am I think the builder estimated the start of April. We've still got to get all the selections and design finalised to get to a fixed price contract and then make sure the bank is all sorted before we can think about actually starting. It's a relatively drawn out process but it also means we can take the time to make sure that the decisions we make are the right ones! Re: Building Simonds Hudson in Warrnambool Vic 39Mar 04, 2016 9:34 pm Went for another peek at the block, from the back.
