Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 21Nov 24, 2015 9:26 am Hi julia We got all our soil testing paperwork and council approvals back yesterday and booked in for colour selection with jessica for next tuesday. Not sure about starting b4 christnas but they seem to think that we will (very doubtful) lol very exciting cant wait so we are now running around everyday trying to agree on a colour scheme which is so hard. If our marriage gets through this we can get through anything haha Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 22Nov 24, 2015 8:55 pm Thats great you have all the paperwork done thats one of the last steps before the actual build thats exciting! Good luck with colours we have been doing the same and its doing my head in comparing and actually locking something in. Colorbond roof colours is whats killing me the most and my hubby would agree if we survive building a house together we should be able to do anything haha. Hopefully you get some movement before christmas! Keep us updated im looking forward to your build! Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 23Nov 24, 2015 9:12 pm So we are thinking of going Melbourne and doing one last round of some display centers this weekend and hopefully find one we love. Do you guys know which display village is the biggest or neqear? Regarding our roof we have to decide between tiles or colorbond which was free during our promotion. Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 24Nov 24, 2015 9:33 pm We went to Warragul to the new estate there it only opened this month there were a fair few displays there and some nice houses but probably to far to go if you from the other side. We went to one in Berwick or near Cranbourne? That I didn't know existed there where a few there but I think they have been there a few years now. But there are a few others in that area to look at as well. For us we went with colourbond roof, we have tiles now, but I liked the rain on the tin roof and longevity of the colourbond so went with this and I believe less maintenance. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 38Jan 27, 2016 2:42 pm Any progress Jimmy? Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 39Jan 27, 2016 7:16 pm Unfortunately progress really slow. Our latest house siting was rehected by council so back to the drawing board. Robert from jg king has been awesome but its been a painful slow process. We have resubmitted redraw plans to council again and should know more later this week. Plabs are still for a early feb start but original plan was for a dec start so little frustrating. I also got told the other day we cant have the wall color we wanted and need to chose one of the colours from the jg king selection centre. Its really frustrating that something like a wall color can be rejected. Eceryones thoughts please? Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 40Jan 27, 2016 7:30 pm That sucks, hopefully council approve this time.. Did you get the house on the site block after prelims at contract stage? I think we have a rough drawing and it's given us an idea on how much rear garden we will have but I'm starting to wonder whether it's not really to scale and hope they give us an actually siting on our block... :s too late by then thou I guess! It's funny that you have to change a paint colour! Maybe the colour you chose was a limited edition colour? Although it's just number that make up the paint they should be able to recreate it!? If it's a feature wall can you just exclude it and then paint it yourself later save a bit of money and hassle of finding a new colour? Unless they are going to charge you to do that of course! Seems silly anyway. I hope we don't have that trouble! When we first signed up we wanted honey stone by Selkirk brick a d they said we could have it though it changed to catogory 2, I found something better that I liked thou I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
