We would have loved a full render frontage but we are a corner block so wanted to feature our main brick somehow on the front, so we have the pillars and side of the garage as brick with the render as per the image. May I ask what program you have used to input your colours? It looks great! Did you opt for the dark chocolate front door and cladding? We also picked that front door too! That makes sense to not to it on a corner block. I would of loved render right the way round but too much money. We used photoshop to do the colours. We have the dark stain on the door.. I cant remember the name of it. Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 24Nov 02, 2015 6:25 pm Have you progressed far in your build lisalent? I noticed on your forum that you are in Hamlyn Terrace, we are building in Wadalba! I've heard there are lots of Coral homes going up all over the coast Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 25Nov 02, 2015 6:26 pm Lexie85 Have you progressed far in your build lisalent? I noticed on your forum that you are in Hamlyn Terrace, we are building in Wadalba! I've heard there are lots of Coral homes going up all over the coast oh cool! not far at all...our land only got registered today so the build hasnt started yet unfortunately... how far are you into yours? Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 26Nov 02, 2015 6:33 pm That's exciting that you registered today! Well our land registered at the beginning of September, we signed our contracts mid September and since then Head Office have done not a lot!! In 7 weeks we are still waiting to be submitted to council! Due to our cut and fill levels we couldn't go through The private certifier approval and apparently it takes them this long to compile the submission!! I'm not a happy camper, but I know it will happen eventually so I need to try and put my patient hat on! With us being first home builders/buyers it's hard not knowing what the process is but its getting beyond a joke now! But as my husband keeps saying, it's more money in our pockets which is the only positive at this point! Oh and to add to our fun, we still need to build a retaining wall before we begin the house that also needs to be engineer designed. Sorry for the rant, I'm just so excited for this house to begin that my patience are wearing thin with all the waiting! Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 28Nov 02, 2015 7:04 pm No, we aren't even in council yet! It's taken Coral 7 weeks to get our submission together for council! we are hopeful that once it hits council we should have approval within a month based off others in our area but Coral are taking FOREVER!!! My poor CSO has been getting ear fulls from me! We have done all of our appointments and so it's getting extremely frustrating now! According to our contract we should have a start date given by 16-Dec so fingers crossed that gets honoured!!! So do you have your plans finalised? We are all set ready to go, done all appointments so I think its just a matter of getting through council and getting a start date. We have flat land too which I am hopeful will help I hope you get your start date before christmas! Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 30Nov 02, 2015 7:10 pm You should get certifier approval with flat land so you should start before us!! We have an 800mm cut and fill so have to go through council and require a retaining wall, fun times still to come I think! Look forward to watching your build progress Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 32Nov 02, 2015 7:16 pm If you get private certifier approval, it doesn't go through council so you can potentially have approval within like 2 weeks but it's when council is require that it holds things up. If you have everything in order you should get a start date relatively quick but having said that, I didn't think it would take them 7 weeks to do a simple submission when we had everything in order as well! But positive thinking for a quick start date for you lisalent!! Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 34Nov 02, 2015 7:28 pm So Coral will give your plans to their private certifier who have the council requirements and can determine if your plans are straight forward and they can approve them in lieu of them going to council. If you have any question marks aka above 600mm cut and fill for Wyong council then it has to be submitted to council for full approval. Private certifier is like a shortcut approval process that avoid you having to go to council. Your Customer Service Officer would definitely be able to tell you more. If you have only just registered they will call you with more info pretty soon I would think. That's how we found out we needed to apply for vehicle access crossover (another $500 that we had no idea about!) and also that our retaining wall required engineers design (more $$!). The joys of having no clue about building haha! But I would expect they will deliver you much nicer news than me Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 35Nov 02, 2015 7:33 pm Lexie85 So Coral will give your plans to their private certifier who have the council requirements and can determine if your plans are straight forward and they can approve them in lieu of them going to council. We thought $5k and it came in at $4k! And we added heaps (well we thought heaps anyway)!! Fancy shower heads, handless cupboards and drawers, knotwood garage, caesarstone in laundry, wood grain silk finishes everywhere and an upgraded dishwasher so we were stoked!! Finally some good news but still no movement on the council submission! I feel terrible everything our CSO calls because I know it's not her fault but I have to vent my anger and she cops most of it Positive thinking though and trying to be optimistic that we can enjoy Christmas in our new home....NEXT YEAR!!! Awesome ! It's great when it comes under budget. Did you get handles a cupboards and drawers to the whole house ? Was that expensive ? Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 38Nov 04, 2015 8:17 pm We didn't do the shark nose handless, we went with the cheaper version (lol) which I still love! We did it to the kitchen and laundry but because we have the elegance in the bathrooms I didn't think it would suit not having handles so kept them in there. It wasn't too expensive either, around $500 which I was so happy with! In all honesty I was expecting to have to cut back as we had given ourselves a strict budget so when it came in under I was so excited! Especially getting the knotwood garage as it was a luxury I didn't think I would be able to get...just hope it suits the other colours!! Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 39Nov 10, 2015 7:47 pm So since there has been still no news on our council submission I've been trying to keep myself motivated with furniture and homewares! I have recently come across what looks to be the most comfortable chair that I feel I must have!! Just trying to convince the husband and figure it a home for it in the new house! I had a pre requisite with building this house, the proviso is everything new!! Appliances, furniture, the works!! It may kill us to save but I'm refusing to not do this house justice with old things! Re: Our Coral Homes Journey - Manhattan 25 40Nov 10, 2015 8:03 pm Your selection looks awesome Lexie. Congrats! Is that swivel chair from Plush? We're looking at one too and it's on the must have list!
