Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 23Oct 07, 2015 8:02 pm We are building with Dechellis. Really loved their display homes and we were impressed with their build quality. This will be our first home too which makes it even more exciting! First Home - Dechellis - Seaford Heights (VISTA) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80210 Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 24Oct 09, 2015 7:00 am Couple Updates: We wanted to get a timber front door to go with the timber roller door that we got included in our quote for the home, Direct Interiors quoted us $2000 for a timber front door with locks and a timber/frosted cavity door for the master bedroom. Now we thought that was very excessive for just 2 doors so we decided to get standard doors included in the build and got the timber ones separately. after looking around it turns out that we could get the same doors we wanted from Bunnings for 1/4 of the price Direct Interiors were going to charge us winning right? we just have to stain and fit them ourselves. Front Door: Cavity Door: We also upgraded our sink in the kitchen, we got this included but we found the exact one at Bunnings so we thought we'd take a pic of it and add it here Enjoy guys First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vista - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78691 Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 25Oct 09, 2015 7:20 am Wow that is a big difference, sounds like it will work out to be about half the cost + your time, a significant saving. Good idea with having a frosted glass cavity door to the ensuite! Good idea with having a frosted glass cavity door to the ensuite! Yeah this will save us a heap of money, We also went with standard fixtures like Taps, Door Handles etc as Direct Interiors wanted to charge us an arm and a leg to have them included so during the time the house is being built we will start getting those extra bits and bobs and fit them as soon as we get into the house First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vista - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78691 Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 27Oct 09, 2015 2:14 pm Love the door!! We were the same, looked at what could easily be changed later (door handles, light fittings/downlights etc) and just got standard - and we'll just upgrade them for much less when we move in. We have just been 'released to construction' today - so now just waiting to see some movement on our block. Anything happening on yours yet? Exciting!!! Nothing yet ours was released to construction last Tuesday but nothing still unfortunately. But yeah it's worked out to be so much cheaper getting these things seperatly deffs the way to go I think. Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 29Oct 10, 2015 6:11 pm Picked our new Letterbox today We also went to see the new Fairmont Homes display village and saw that one of the display homes had the same render (Colourbond Dune) we hadn't seen it in person until today it's gonna look amazing, can't wait! We also chose our feature wall colour for the main living area and main bedroom, The colour underneath is our wall colour throughout the house (Floral White) and the top colour is called (Solid Stone) which will be our feature wall colour. If you can I'd recommend getting a sample pot of your wall colour and painting a bit of canvas so you've always got a sample handy Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 30Oct 13, 2015 7:23 am Hey guys Thanks for everyone who is following our build! Now I just have a question about people entering your home while it is under construction. There's a couple that every time we go down to view our block, they are walking through other people's houses. There's even one with a front door that they have opened and gone into their house and walked around. I know it may sound like I am being pedantic but I am not comfortable with some complete stranger walking through my house (even if it isn't completed). Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be flagging it with someone? Thanks! Technically Fairmont will say the owners aren't allowed on their own property, so strangers definitely shouldn't be! They were going in and out of every house that has a slab down and frame up. Very unsettling because we don't even know them! Next time I see them I'm going to take photos and report it because I am not comfortable with it at all. I'm there twice a day and my dad goes around every night after work.. Hopefully we'll catch them Re: First Home - Fairmont Homes - Vogue - Seaford Heights Vi 37Oct 15, 2015 1:22 pm I have seen them too! Also i went to see my block on sunday arvo there was a guy who is security for fairmont homes he was parked on my driveway lol and he said he was waiting for police because there has been some people throwing rocks at the windows of the new houses. He said that if you ever see someone on your property don't get out the car and just call the police... he said he has some cameras installed too.
