Browse Forums Building A New House Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 21Nov 30, 2014 5:48 pm Lol yeah I know, I will do different in both areas.. I just love too many lol hard decisions! Nope not that one, I don't think I saw that one, does it have some silver on it? Oh wow! I would love to do a feature wall around the bath and up that wall which has a window like this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But that's wishful thinking because I'm 100% sure it will cost a lot! How much was the feature tiling if you don't mind me asking? Does coral allow for any feature tiles at all? If not I may suck it up and just put it in the niches and maybe along under the mirror... Depends on $$$ Ice snow is actually standard range now I have the new elegance package so maybe it's different from the last package? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 22Nov 30, 2014 6:09 pm It has a grey pattern running through it Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We didn't really get a breakdown of exact costs - we upgraded floor and wall tiles too. I think hubby said the cost of feature wall in bathroom was around $3000! Will look awesome though! Great news about ice snow being in standard range. We nearly went with that but decided on organic white. How exciting! Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 23Nov 30, 2014 6:17 pm Oh wow that's beautiful! That will look amazing! Very jealous! What colour stickers did you upgrade to? The gold range? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 24Nov 30, 2014 6:27 pm Thanks! I hope so. I think the white satin rectified were gold and the grey rectified were maybe red stickers. There's extra labour costs in laying the rectified tiles too Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 25Nov 30, 2014 6:49 pm Ohh I'm loving this thread!! I'm so pleased you have taken all those selection photos. My DH is a bit like that too. I'm really keen on the white look for the benchtops.. Arctic/Ice blends really appeal to me. We currently have a black/brown mix and I HATE it. It has wow factor and everyone who sees it loves it, but you can't see little coffee stains/spills and if you ever get an ant or two on the surface you would have no idea it was there until it's in your drink/food as they just blend in. Love some of the feature tile options you have there, and the tapware is lovely too. I am not looking forward to trying to match everything up across the house. I know what I like, but find it very hard to think about paint-floors-tiles etc. Not my forte at all. eeek Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 26Nov 30, 2014 7:01 pm Finnsmamma Ohh I'm loving this thread!! We have shiny black laminate kitchen benchtops in the rental we're in and it looks awful. We can't just wipe it over cos it goes streaky - it needs polishing to look nice! Do you know what sort of colour scheme you're going for? Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 27Nov 30, 2014 7:21 pm Daydream - yeah they said that when I had a look today, I'll be sticking to silver lol $$$ I can't wait to see how your bathroom turns out Finnsmamma - The photos I took are of the previous standard range as they hadn't changed some things over to the new elegance options but the sales rep said it will be very similar.. They were in the process of changing it all over when I was there.. I'm excited to sit with the colour lady and really go through it all but I love having a look and getting ideas.. It's so scary trying to get it all to match when you only get tiny samples of each thing I think I will definitely be going lighter in the kitchen I'm just tossing up splash backs I love herringbone pattern but I wish I had a bit of shimmer in it. Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 28Nov 30, 2014 7:52 pm Could you do a glass splash back? Easier to clean! We're having a metallic Dulux paint for ours for a bit of shimmer. The extra cost for laying the rectified tiles wasn't all that bad. The bulk of our upgrade costs and labour were for the two feature mosaic walls. I guess if you were doing tiles throughout the house it would certainly add up. But if you're doing laminate and just tiling the wet areas don't rule it out if you've seen something you like. If you can't do a feature mosaic wall maybe look at using your floor tiles on one wall as a feature and then different tiles on the other walls. Have you looked at the Houzz website for ideas? It's very useful. You can book in to the colour selection place prior to your appointment to check out what's available. It's only on certain Fridays and you have to book. I would have liked to have done that but it's a 4.5 hr drive each way so we gave it a miss. Do you know what sort of colour scheme you're going for? I am very attracted to the display schemes at the moment with charcoals/silver/grey/white. I'm mindful of the spaces looking too cold though- I also really love the walnut look floors, so hoping to find a great mix. Might have to make a few trips out to see samples and try to put it all together. There are some nice displays in the brochures where they have managed to blend some light grey wall colours with brown flooring and dark wood plus the light ceaserstone which looks really classy, but also warm and inviting. We will have to go with some really dark chocolate or charcoal carpet in the bedrooms for the sake of the kids.. so that and my really pale benchtops will be a starting point to work from. My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 30Nov 30, 2014 8:02 pm Sounds very similar colour scheme to ours & cristyandpercy. We've gone white white walls throughout with view to painting feature walls in bedrooms after handover. Charcoal carpet and grey/white in bathrooms. White kitchen. Oak look flooring. Think it will work well. I like bright colours but prefer to do that with furnishings as it can be easily changed. We looked at a lot of display homes for inspiration and ideas. Took heaps of photos and kept reviewing them for what we liked. It's so much fun! Although I was stressing for a while about pulling it all together. Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 31Nov 30, 2014 8:09 pm Ohh I'm glad you have similar taste! I never can tell. DH and I have been together 17 years and we don't really have a "style" as we've just collected things over the year and with each additional child. Our youngest is almost 18months and I'm looking forward to getting rid of some of the oldest furniture and starting afresh. We've bought the boys new lowline beds in espresso/white with all the underbed storage and our latest furniture items are all black/dark stain with silver handles etc, so hopefully will all look good. Then we can get new rugs/cushions and some wall art to add colour (like you also). I know I want a very light kitchen benchtop, but undecided on the cabinetry. I LOVE the organic bathroom options in the elegance inclusions with all the grey and white.. I want the bathrooms EXACTLY like the brochures lol. I love that light, bright, cool look in the wet areas. Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 32Nov 30, 2014 8:21 pm Me too! And it can be jazzed up with some simple additions like bright towels. We relocated at the end of last year and a lot of our furniture got damaged in the move. We did get a little insurance money but not enough. Looking forward to replacing a few things. Have picked out a few things and hoping to order/layby after Christmas. Have also been stockpiling new bedding & cushions etc that I've picked up in the sales. Just need a house to furnish now! Do you know what sort of colour scheme you're going for? Gah! Don't tell me that - although you're not the first!! I've had my heart set on black benchtops from Day 1 of this whole process and that's what we're getting. I'll just have to make sure we never spill anything, drip anything or maybe just not use them at all.... Welcome btw Ash! CONGRATS on your thread I love your selections so far, most of your tile selections are exactly what I would have (and would like to) pick! They look great. Also, liked the house plan, very different to most I've seen here. How exciting! When do you do your colour selections? Absolutely nothing is happening on my build, the builder has been out of contact.. so no idea what is happening. I'm not in much of a rush though XD Keep us updated, would like to see more photos!! Yay you're back! Goes to show we have great taste!! I will probably have to scale back my grand plans when I find out the price of feature tiles lol but I'm happy my main tiles are in the standard range Thank you, I think they will suit my lifestyle and if I ever need to I can convert the flexi to a bedroom (I don't anticipate it lol!) I do colour selections sometime next year I just love to plan lol! Have you got to do yours yet? Has your builder started to not respond? Or just no news at the moment... I guess we have a while to wait until June anyway lol... Saving time lol Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 36Dec 06, 2014 8:24 pm Thought I would post a pic of what my facade looks like, I chose the mornington design and I have a choice of render or feature brick, not sure yet what I would prefer.. The dark areas I would keep as render but contemplating changing the lighter area to one of the bricks I liked in my earlier posts.. Julie Re: My First Build - Coral Homes Noosa 20 - Jordan Springs 38Dec 08, 2014 7:16 pm Thanks jul33m1 I'm of the same opinion.. I think I want the area around the windows to be the reddish brown bricks with a charcoal (or similar) roof and similar colour rendered pillars I love the look of my little home, I can't wait til June to get started! I went and looked at corals brand new display in willowdale nsw to see the noosa 25 with elegance inclusions and it was so beautiful! Exactly what I'm after.. So happy I chose my design!
