Re: Building in Aveley with DAH - Changes so late? 25Aug 06, 2013 10:05 pm We finally have some movement, woohoo! With all the rain I expected it to be delayed, fingers crossed that everything can progress as it should for the rest of the week and hopefully slab down early next week. I'm really excited now but I just can't shake the feeling that I wish we had gone for a columnless corner in the alfresco. We debated for ages and then decided it was just too much money. Now I wish we had gone the extra mile. Is it too late to change something like that? and is it likely to delay the build at this late stage? Any advise would be appreciated. If so, I would say it would have to go back to council. My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Building in Aveley with DAH - Changes so late? 27Aug 06, 2013 10:15 pm Thanks Tracy, yes it will be structural so will have to go back to council. Would everything have to stop whilst we get the approval or could it carry on until it gets to the stage where they can't do an more without the approval? I know it's stupid but it's just that niggling thought in the back of my mind that won't go away Building The Vines with Dale Alcock in Aveley Contract signed 15/5 Electrical Prestart 24/5 Prestart 13/6 Earthworks started 06/8 Slab Down 09/8 Re: Building in Aveley with DAH - Changes so late? 28Aug 06, 2013 10:19 pm I wouldn't be surprised if the build gets put on hold. You can always ask though. When we had our "post" issue, we were told if we wanted it changed it would mean delays. My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Building in Aveley with DAH - Changes so late? 29Aug 06, 2013 10:26 pm Thanks again Tracyw, I thought as much. Damn decisions coming back to haunt me, I'm sure it'll be great either way, and definietly don't want to delay anything any more. It doesn't hurt to ask:) My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Building in Aveley with DAH - Earthworks Done 31Aug 08, 2013 10:28 pm Woohoo called at the site today not expecting any activity with all the rain and we have the earthworks done and all ready for the final slab pour! I'm a happy happy lady. It's starting to feel very real now and the site looks so different and very big. Surprisingly. I contacted DAH and they were very good in explaining to me that it would delay the build considerably if we changed the plan now, probably 3 months or so. I just don't want to delay any more, so onwards and upwards, I'm sure it's going to be fine and it's all my thoughts and ideas and doubts running into one. Anyway, just thought I would post the updated piccie and again say that I'm so pleased that this week everything has happened and moving along quickly Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building The Vines with Dale Alcock in Aveley Contract signed 15/5 Electrical Prestart 24/5 Prestart 13/6 Earthworks started 06/8 Slab Down 09/8 Re: Building in Aveley with Dale Alcock - Slab Down 33Aug 11, 2013 9:54 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Slab down and so pleased it was all done last week. I really expected the weather to hold us up. Not sure how long the wait is now for the slab to be ready and a brickie to start. Re: Building in Aveley with Dale Alcock - Slab Down 35Aug 11, 2013 10:56 am Thanks Bevnic we are really pleased and after what seems so long in the planning stages to see it actually happen is really exciting. The estate has so much activity too that its amazing to see it all come together and have a nosey around at what everyone else is doing! Obviously that is all dependent on weather and available brickies. Re: Building in Aveley with Dale Alcock - Slab Down 37Aug 11, 2013 2:26 pm Thanks itzeddie: Sheds a bit more light on what happens next. Here's hoping there is no delay for brickies but reading other posts seems there may be. If I'm this excited by a slab going down I'm going to be on the ceiling when the first bricks go down. Hehe! She gave me some dates and timelines to work with as follows: 7-10 days for the slab to cure All supplies will now start to arrive over the next 3-4 weeks (supplier dependant but they will now call them all in) Once the slab has cured the plumber will connect to sewer and soakwells if needed (not sure what the soakwells are and why we would or would not need them? so about to no look it up) Once drains are connected the bricklayer will do the first couple of courses and then the termimesh will go down. Brickie will return and be complete within 2-4 weeks (totally weather dependant) At this point we will meet the site manager. So it's time to sit tight for a few weeks and wait (not my strong point) Building The Vines with Dale Alcock in Aveley Contract signed 15/5 Electrical Prestart 24/5 Prestart 13/6 Earthworks started 06/8 Slab Down 09/8 Re: Building in Aveley with Dale Alcock - Slab Down 39Aug 13, 2013 12:16 am congrats on your slab. Ours went down on the 24th of July so it will be interesting to see each others progress Re: Building in Aveley with Dale Alcock - Slab Down 40Aug 13, 2013 12:32 am Congrats on your slab. Seems like a few of us with Dale Alcock are at a similar stage. Have to say I am starting to feel a bit frustrated. We were soooo excited when slab went down as that 6 month admin process just seems to drag and to see action gets you so excited! However our slab went down over 4 weeks ago on the 15th July and bricks have been sitting for nearly 2 weeks and no mention of brickie start date. When I asked if there were delays with brickies I was told no however someone else on this forum building down the road from us with another builder had slab weeks after us and already has brickies working I am trying to be really patient but having a " come on let's get moving " day Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted. The chandelier in question is quite large, measuring 4 meters… 0 72696 |
