Hi Folks, a couple of updates.

Finally submitted the full application for Planning Permit to the council. It was all delayed because I found out I needed some additional paperwork. Also asked a solicitor for some feedback on the application letter I put together. After a week I got nothing so I decided there had been enough delays. I submitted everything to council - should have seen the face on the woman at the desk when she saw what I was asking for.

I also had my electrical appointment on Monday night...... Talk about charge like wounded bulls!!!! Since when was one batten fixture going to be enough to light up a 5 x 7m room??? Man the budget is hammered. Come on tatts!!!

Was thinking of putting in some C-Bus... don't think it's gonna make the cut.

Anyway. Now more waiting starts.

I know what you mean by addicted - it's on in the background at work -

I'm lot 110. Still has 2 trees on it. Council said over the phone that they'd approved the removal but I still don't have the letter saying so. Tree loppers won't touch them until I have an official letter. Surprise, surprise, the council guy responsible won't return my calls....

I have to get over there for a look. Sounds like heaps of activity going on and I'm missing it!! Hey, maybe they'll leave the ladder there so you can keep that treehouse feeling!! Just joking. The stairs are made of all good internal timber so they probably won't put that in until it's all weatherproofed.

Great to be in touch!! Fantastic that you found the forum. Wish we could have spoken earlier. We were very worried about the trees and were wondering if you had also wanted them gone or whether that was just us?? Anyway, I've been given a verbal approval but I still don't have the paperwork 2 weeks after that conversation so I'll be contacting council again this week. I've left 2 messages - no call.

I submitted all of the paperwork last Monday for the site coverage issue. I'm sure they'll keep us waiting for some time on that one. Like you, I'd like to go in and discuss this with the Planning folks. Australand really did make us feel that it was going to be pushed out to 60% when we made the decision to buy.

I had a quick look at the Tribeca plans - Í assume you've flipped it to have the Garage on the opposite side? 34% - Is that the Tribeca 36? Makes things easy for you. I need the Master Bedroom downstairs which is the main reason it's so big at ground level.

Yes, the music room will be soundproofed and be used by both my Daughter - Singing - and Son - Drummer - with his band friends. I'm soundproofing it so hopefully you'll never know they're there.

We went to the estate on Saturday and checked out all of the blocks. Bit of a pool happening at your place. Look forward to seeing it grow. Post a siting plan onto your blog so we can see where it will sit on the block.

Permit from Council approving Tree removal arrived today!!!

Only took 7 weeks too!!!

Wow, imagine how happy I'll be if they ever approve the site coverage restriction change...

Mummagoose - Only put the application in formally last Monday so if it took 7 weeks for tree removal then I'm not going to hold my breathe for a speedy decision on the site coverage. But I can dream...

Hi Everyone,

A little more happening. I was asked for some more info last week - while I was in Hong Kong on business. I arranged to send them the additional info via my DW. I called today and the process will be as follows;

1. Sending me a letter and a sign that needs to be displayed on the property for 14 days
2. Send letters to adjoining properties - 2 either side and 2 rear - advising of the proposed changes.
3. Sign a stat dec stating that I have had the sign up for the full 14 days minimum.

If there are no objections from neighbours

4. create the management report recommending the change to title.
5. have the report reviewed by Planning Management along with his - hopefully!! - recommendation!!
6. wait 3-4 weeks for the permit to be approved by the management and mailed out. Yippee

If there ARE objections, it goes off to VCAT and the objector has 21 days to make an official objection to the title.

So that's what we have ahead of us. The guy sounds like he's happy to recommend. The management committee may overrule him but he doesn't see why they should. Everything else sounds like it's OK.
