Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 22Mar 26, 2010 10:20 am Hello future neighbours, just found this when google-ing Saltwater Coast and thought i'd say hi. My name is Dane and my fiance and I bought in the Boardwalk release about 8 weeks ago. It does seem to be coming along quite well but I think the Boardwalk release titles are a bit behind your ones (lifestyle ect.) Does anyone know if the process for sorting out boundary fencing costs between neighbours is the same for existing dwellings? It's a bit hard to send a fencing notice to an empty block?? Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 24Mar 27, 2010 1:34 pm Hey guys ...I drove past today and the (Homestead) road is done =) .... The estate is looking good and the city view is amazing... Re: the fencing I’m not sure on the process, maybe you can forward a notice through the developer to the owner?? I really would like to know as I’m planning to build straight away.... how about everyone? Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 25Mar 29, 2010 1:53 pm Hi everyone! I wish I was building straight away! I am still sorting out designs and builders (i hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel!) As for fencing.....yeah I would contact the developer........ Its all happening now! Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 26Mar 29, 2010 3:44 pm We were going to buy land there but then decided to go to Williams Landing. Roughly what are the prices like at Saltwater. We paid 226k for 576m We believe our land will be titled in April. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. I guess both are going to be good investment overall.... uhmmm...in September last year the 512m were going for 225k aprox.. Do you have any idea if Palmers road which run through Williams landing will be connected to palmers road in point cook? Pravvy good luck with your builder search, it is fun at the start then the more display homes you visit the more complicated it gets... Palmers Rd will eventually be connected to Pt Cook. Probably when they do the railway station and the shopping centre. Will make it easy for us to get to freeway or to our son who is building in Alamanda. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. These are for me and my sisters. I was researching to see if the land price has gone up since I bought them in Sep 09 for $185k each (410sqm), then i got to this forum. Pravvy, can I recommend our builder? They have about 25 floor plans and 50 facades. You should be able to find something there. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 30Mar 30, 2010 10:05 pm Hey guys... Sure once Palmers rd extension is complete it is going to provide easy access to freeway (from Williams landing) and the planned shopping centre (from Point cook)... Good luck with your building nick, we bought our block in Sep too. I’m hoping the land price has gone up since then... Saltwater coaster’s has anyone’s land been titled yet? I was told that I would receive a letter 2 weeks before title but nothing yet :S Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 32Mar 31, 2010 12:58 pm Kaytee that's about what we paid....in hindsight i think I should have gone Williams Landing as it is closer to the train station. Ah Well....I hope the city view makes up for it! : ) Akiva...I totally agree...Now I am just confused and still have no idea what we want! We decided it might be 'easier' to go to an drafsman and get a plan of what we like drawn up so we can give that to tender with smaller builders.....and no my land hasn't been titled yet....I am quite nervous...I hope they will push it to early April but from my constant calling I think it might be actually sooner.....so any day now.... nick88 sure go for it I'll have a look and see if anything strikes us as 'perfect'! I still haven't committed to anyone..... So you guys going to the HIA show? Thanks Homeone for free tickets! Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 33Mar 31, 2010 7:40 pm HI guys! I'm thinking of buying into Saltwater Coast too (Horizon) and am also looking at builders. Question is, apart from the big players for builders, can anyone recommend any other builders? Thanks! Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 34Mar 31, 2010 9:35 pm redwings HI guys! I'm thinking of buying into Saltwater Coast too (Horizon) and am also looking at builders. Question is, apart from the big players for builders, can anyone recommend any other builders? Thanks! We have decided to go with a smaller builder, Watersun Homes. We got a pretty good deal through them and really liked the layout of the house. We also looked at Porter Davis who also seemed quite reasonable. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 35Mar 31, 2010 9:59 pm @redwing, I am building both of my sisters' and my houses with Legacy Homes. Very competitive price with lots of great 3-4 bedroom designs. The only negativity is they only have 3 double stories designs. Call this guy: Michael 0431 549 512. Please tell him, it's Nick from Abbotsford introduce you and ask him about free projector system for your theatre room. Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 36Apr 01, 2010 9:33 am Hi nick88 I’m referring to Williams Landing Town Centre.... I’m not sure when they will start building it?? redwings welcome to the forum...... we choose Henley after spending so much time shopping around, their prices were reasonable, they were offering good inclusion package, and the main thing we fall in love with the home plan... Check out Places homes, they are a division of PD, they are reasonable too, and they had an offer where site cost was included... Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 37Apr 01, 2010 7:21 pm Thanks for all the advice guys (Akiva, Megatron, Nick88). Much appreciated. Appreciate the heads up on the projector Nick. Will check out the mentioned builders and have a look, but really looking at designs that have the Master suite at the back and not the front. Think I will go with Saltwater coast as they title in June and Featherbrook only titles in mid Dec and we all know how "fast" things get going in Dec. Only thing holding me back is that I will be locked in to Telstra for broadband. Have a good easter guys and keep safe. Cheers! Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 38Apr 02, 2010 12:50 am Regarding Telstra velocity, my understanding of consumer rights is that you should always have a choice on which provider you want to go with... it would make sense that the first couple of hundred homes in Saltwater coast will be locked in to Telstra....however, once the estate grow up, I think you will have the options to go elsewhere...... I could be wrong though... Re: Building in Saltwater Coast - Point cook 39Apr 02, 2010 1:15 am G'day Coasters, We are in the process of selling our first home and wanted to be coaster as well . I am Just wondering what is the chance of buying a reasonable size block in there, say 16m block? I checked the Saltwater coast website but I don't think they bother to update the site. I also went to the land sale office a couple of weeks ago, but the sales guy told me they only got 4 or 5 small blocks and got no idea when is the next release. BTW, when was the wetland stage released? BTW, when was the wetland stage released? HI Emery, Was at the sales office last weekend and there was a 16m wide lot in the Garden Square release for sale. Was looking at it too but decided that it might be a little bit too big for me. Think it's was for $270K or something.....sorry can't remember the lot number.. According to the sales guys there, the next release might be in mid April. Hope that helps.
