I agree with moogles about your colours, neutral is definitely best. Where abouts in Bendigo are you building? We'll be starting our build in Golden Square in Jan, there's only two other bendigonians on here that I've found - nickbell - who's building in Eaglehawk, and evolvedmonkey who's building in maiden gully. I'll definitely be watching your progress. The brickies I know sleep in if there is rain forecast for the following day. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. I also love your colour choices, I am a huge fan of greys and browns and neutral colours as you have so many options with furniture. We are currently looking at a few houses with JG, how have you found them so far? Did you find that most things were included in the price or did you have to add a fair bit on to the base price? I have found so far that they have pretty good inclusions and by the looks of your build, are pretty good! Looking forward to following the rest of your build! Bek Bek I'm back Re: Our Little Home (Caraway) 32Dec 05, 2009 7:34 pm Your house is looking excellent, and its going up so quickly!! Love all your colour choices, i too am a fan of greys/browns. Bek We have been very happy with them so far a few little hickups every now and again through the paperwork side of thing but has not been too bad... the only real problem that we have had with the actual building process is the wrong windows in the bathroom and ensuite however they were very sorry that had happened and said that they would get it changed over as soon as they could...... so fingers crossed it stays that way As for extras i am unsure what other builders include and what their prices are like... we only looked around at a few other builders before we signed with jgking and they seemed pretty reasonable. it depends on which range you are going with they have their new alpha range which comes with less features (we signed with a mystyle collection house) and means you have to do more upgrades however the base prices of the houses are alot cheaper... the mystyle range had better quality inclusions such as fancy door handles and mixers on all your taps, plus all of your appliances which are not included in the alpha range. what floorplan are you looking at, as i know they have taken our floorplan out of their range so we are one of the last caraway 145's to be built here in Bendigo? We added air conditioning, extra concreting, upgrade fly screens, tiling in lieu of carpet to kitchen/meals/hall area, colorbond roof and put in our TV outlets and an aerial which we though was pretty reasonable to have to pay for all of them.... Let me know if you have any other questions coz im happy to help you out Emily and James.....Building with J G King Caraway 145- Our Beautiful First Little Home Site Cut Started on 13th of October 2009 Re: Our Little Home (Caraway) 34Dec 08, 2009 7:02 pm Thanks for the info. It's great to hear about other people using builders that you are interested in because you hear so many horror stories. We have a while until our block settles so we are still not really sure what we are going to build. There are a few plans that I like. We went through the Alexandra display home and I LOVED it although it is very large and prob out of our price range but I can still dream! I also went through the Stanhope and liked that too, it's a better size and price. Maybe I can somehow combine the two But I will keep looking and prob find something else I love!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build. Bek Bek I'm back Re: Our Little Home (Caraway) 35Dec 14, 2009 5:25 pm hey Em and Jim, how's it all going? Have they finished your bricking yet? Re: Our Little Home (Caraway) 36Dec 17, 2009 8:24 pm Hello everyone sorry it has taken me so long to put up another post but I’ve been having trouble uploading photos so I needed to sit down when I had heaps of time to fiddle around but here is an update now.... (Sorry that some of the photos are sideways, it makes for a more interesting read. lol) We went out a few days after the last photos and we had our walls done but still had the brick work under the windows to be done...
