Browse Forums Building A New House Re: NoAnchovy's building the Blackwood @ Oyster Harbour Estate 21Oct 21, 2009 12:46 pm Finally got around to uploading some more pictures All is going well, we chose a new elevation last night that has some rendering etc - its called The Contemporary. Its a couple of grand onto the bill but it looks a bit specky and will really offset our bricks/roof/paving choices Signed off on that this morning and our sales rep has lit a fire under the surveyors in the hopes that I will get to pre-start before I leave. I think it is wishful thinking but at least she is trying for me. More tiles and carpets to look at this afternoon. Have to head to brocks and see if we can chose our splashback and laundry/bathroom tiles from there because I really dont want to purchase from the other place. we have an appt with the other place and I will let her know then that we wont be using her. Also going to get a quote from the second carpet place just to make sure we are going to get it for as cheap as we possibly can. Also still have to source the blinds and decide what we want. Not even mentioning wall colours hahaha. I'm not sure if I can get it all done, at the same time I have 2 birthdays to organise for the kids as I wont be here when it all happens and I still have to finish getting my own stuff ready for fly out. Cal is talking about taking me to perth on Sunday so that I dont have to catch the bus so that cuts two more days off my organising time. Anywho here are the pics House bricks & the main pavers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Roof tile & main pavers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main pavers and cream border (not certain on these yet as I am still thinking of going traditional red with cream border??) I love the combinations they all go really well together. Are you going to render all the front?? Or just part of it? We had to have some render part of the estate covenants so we are just getting the retreat part of the front main bedroom wall done in white to offset our red bricks. Gosh time flies. You will be off before you know it. Hopefully they get a speedy on. Kat Re: NoAnchovy's building the Blackwood @ Oyster Harbour Estate 23Oct 21, 2009 1:54 pm we are going to render the 'contemporary' bit - I would have a picture of the elevation but she took it when we signed off on it. Cal wants the render the face of the garage too but it is hard to know what parts without the picture. We could have left it as was but we really would have been pushing in regards to meeting the convenants - the picture they had of what your house should NOT look like was pretty much our elevation we would have got through because the builder is all buddy with the developer but I didnt like the idea of leaving that to chance. I'll see if she can get me a copy of the elevation and I will put it up - now to decide on render colour "The Blackwood" WA Country Builders Land Offer & Acceptance 15th Oct Pre-Start in about 10 days *EEK* Diary of my build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24876 Re: NoAnchovy's building the Blackwood @ Oyster Harbour Estate 24Oct 21, 2009 2:39 pm NoAnchovy we are going to render the 'contemporary' bit - I would have a picture of the elevation but she took it when we signed off on it. We spend many an hour driving around new estates looking at houses and renders and bricks lol Kat A lot of those Covenants are put in place at the time the Developers are still involved and marketing a certain look and they get ignored or expire after a time.
