Hopefully they will start your bricking soon. Sorry, Mtuba2 - I missed your reply. How is your build going now? Have you got a roof yet? I stopped by the block today and saw they have spread our bricks around and placed tiles on the roof ready for next week. I hope the rain we're having at the moment dries up over the next 2 days! Here's what I saw when driving up to our block today! (Side view) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Weeeeeeeeeee! Can't wait til next week! Re: Alulei's house has bricks! 24Jun 13, 2009 2:40 pm Well, today we had our weekly trip to the block. Soooo exciting! We have some bricks! And our tiles are on! Bricking is in parts so it's hard to get a shot of all the parts (windows/bricks/tiles) all together, but I managed to get a few shots that give a rough idea. We're very happy with the colour of our bricks. Hope everyone else reading is doing well with their builds. I'm keeping an eye out for others who are at about the same stage - helps to see how we're tracking. Apparently we'll be in by mid October... it seems so far away, but I guess we're almost half way through! Re: Alulei's house has bricks! 25Jun 13, 2009 7:09 pm looking great alulei! Your bricks, windows and tiles go nicely together.....hey looks like your neighbour has the same roof colours as you? hope they don't have the same bricks too! Although it would drive me crazy to only see the house once a week lol, it must be feel great to rock up each week and know that you'll see heaps of major progress and changes rather than small little ones. Hopefully you'll be in before October!!....our house is quite large and we've only started frrame stage and we've been given the end of October for completion. Re: Alulei's house has bricks! 26Jun 13, 2009 11:41 pm It's looking fantastic Alulei! I love the bricks. We have the oyster too and are really happy with our choice, they look great. Looks like neat work by your brickies. Our neighbours do have the same roof tiles - good eye, Thorney. Their bricks are a creamy colour from what I can see, so I'm not very worried. I think our houses will compliment eachother nicely. My DP's comment was "I wish everyone had the same tiles! They're awesome!" and his opinion was what I was most worried about - he is quite fussy about the external colour selections (moreso than me! I was more worried about the internals). Our new home is about a 15 minute drive in the opposite direction to work for either of us, so it's hard to convince the other half to go have a looksee - he isn't nearly as exciteable about the house as I am. He claims he'll be excited when we're in and it's ours. And its not as much fun going by yourself - there's noone to scream "OMG WE HAVE ......" to. So, happy to wait til weekends and go with him. Though, don't know if I'll be so strong when doors, kitchens and bathrooms start going in. Esp. if they lock up too well and I can't get in on weekends! I dunno if our builder is just super slow, but that was their official date - I'd love to be in sooner but I won't hold my breath. My SS said he's overseeing 15 houses in my STREET. New developments, hey? Re: Alulei's house has bricks! 28Jun 16, 2009 12:06 am alulei Thanks Thorney and woodvillesouth! Our neighbours do have the same roof tiles - good eye, Thorney. New developments, hey? Ah that's good that you and your neighbour don't have the same bricks....you wouldn't want two identical houses next to each other! LOL!! yup my DH isn't as excitebable about the build as me either! He has not enjoyed the process at all, up until this week when things really started happening. Oh l love going up to my block by myself...all could sit there all day and just watch! DH and kiddo's never want to ogle at it as long as l do 15 houses in the one street well that explains the date somewhat. At the end of the day, as long as you get a quality build then that's all that really matters Interesting.
