Hopefully end of March, but more likely April given how long everything seems to take. I really wanted to be in by September but its looking less likely each week.

Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 182Feb 11, 2018 2:43 pm WifeofHunza Tribe7 WifeofHunza tribe you are back..... was so worried! life is full of so many ups and downs, but at least you are back on the up! hope the first day of high school and kindy went well, it is a busy busy life you lead! Hello WOF, How is everything going with your build now? Did you get through the engineers with your beam? Have you started a thread yet? Agree 100% life has many twists and turns it’s just frustrating when those are beyond our control. Lucy is on the fence about high school, how did your daughter go? I have to admit I like busy it’s the waiting around that’s driving me nuts. 🤭 We have finally moved out of the house to be demolished and then another small curve ball was thrown re the deck being to close to the fence. aaaah - we don't have neighbours on that side of the house so it should not matter, so we are going to have to argue that point later and get a different approval. Anyway all being well and good we should be demolished and starting in 2-3 weeks .....better be or I am going to lose it! Our builder is great though and I have no complaints there. Just the whole process driving me nuts. The beam is all sorted and the room will be gigantic ..... god only knows how I am going to fill this place..... but I will have fun shopping!!!! Miss 13 started year 8 this year and is so happy, only challenge is where we are staying is further away from school so the alarm goes off far to early for my liking. Lucy will transition slowly the first year is a massive change ( I would not like to be starting High school again - too stressful) I am so thrilled with your news WOF that’s fantastic your so close to starting. We are totally going to be build pals. Ok moving is painful and the deck will require a little effect effort (stupid council can’t they just shut up and agree) but you have finally done it. I honestly don’t know how you have held it together so patiently, I would of lost the plot 🤭. Now your so close to a site start ppllllllleeeeeaaaaassseeeee start a thread I can’t wait to see all the ideas and colours you have selected. I’m so keen to see this gigantic room too, Defiantly time to fess up those plans (hint hint, nudge ) It’s really great to hear your daughter is loving grade 8, the extra travel and alarm aren’t ideal but it’s for a great cause. Lucy is finding her feet and came home asking about boyfriends we agreed grade 9 might be a good time to consider that (holy cow crisis averted) thank god she is so honest and trust worthy. Actually I have a question for you, do you happen to know of tile shop in Melbourne that hand make there tiles and they are stunning, I saw them on Instagram but can’t remember there name (it’s not southern cross ceramics) Thanks Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 183Feb 11, 2018 2:52 pm blackcat20 Tribe7 Mmmmm I can’t say it’s the simplest process I’ve ever seen. It wouldn’t hurt to start “helping” to keep things moving like chasing up your covenant approval, a phone call to your local council to speak to plumbing and drainage to ask what the turn around approval time line is and would they mind if you call once the lodgment has occurred as your dying to start building. Do the same with the private certifier and hopefully it flies through for you. I did that and all ours got sorted really quickly, and my CSO was so thrilled she didn’t have to chase anything up as I helped her out. Defiantly can’t hurt to try, I hope you get some movement this week Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 184Feb 11, 2018 4:09 pm So glad to hear you have had a great experience with them so far. My CS was also super responsive and being patient answering all questions as we are building the first time. I don’t expect everything will go fool proof later down the track but will see how they deal with issues. Have heard some people having a few issues with them during the build and after PCI so far :s P.s. love the way you always reply to others comments/questions very thoughtfully and clearly in plain language. I find it hard to understand all buidling glossary and abbreviations T___T[/quote] Hey daisy, Great to hear your sales dude is helpful and kind, being a first timer is so exciting but crazy scary too. Building a house is one of the biggest financial commitments you will make, to have good advise and a community willing to share will hopefully make your experience a really positive one. Thanks for the kind words, I’ve been on Homeone since 2014 and watched so many homes being built and met some amazing people and learnt so much. If I can help others and give back by sharing I’m stoked to be here honestly feel free to ask anything you might like to know, there is a huge variety of people on here with great skills and knowledge Try not to let the issues of others influence you too much, If it was every single build with faults, poor communication and big time delays I would say run for the damn hills now. Our 6 month defect list on our Metricon build was 5 pages long, yet my next door neighbour who built with them too had barely any. The lady over the road who built with coral had her whole house repainted, my lovely pal first time builder had the smallest amount of defects I’ve even seen and she built with Clarendon, her second build with them is just as perfect. Tomcat had a decent frame overhang on her Adelaide build. If the builder makes a giant fluff up we have the QBCC to step in and assist the home owners. Certain time frames have to be adhered to before calling the big boys in but if it gets to that stage and the defect on the house do not meet code then the QBCC have the legislation to make them fix the defect to meet Australian Building Standards, you can also pay a fee to a private building inspector to assess the build at the 5 progress stages. I hope that puts your mind at ease a little. Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 196Feb 12, 2018 9:41 pm They are producing the construction drawings, we did reduce the size of the hallway outside bedroom 5 and 6 and gave space back to those bedrooms. That was it for changes. We are seriously stoked, I’m actually excited about the house again and it’s starting to feel real, I’m keen to look at lights, rugs and paint colors but not cushions poor Mr Tribe is so over the cushions. I brought 2 new cushions about a fortnight ago and I thought the poor man was going to have a break down Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 197Feb 12, 2018 9:44 pm hahaha! i purposely avoid going into any homeware store, because we have no room in our rental and will probably struggle trying to move with the stuff we have already... soooo many things i want to buy Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 198Feb 12, 2018 9:54 pm Yay for unconditional approval- and hopefully your drawings aren’t far away! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Scenic Rim QLD Acreage Build With Bold Living. 199Feb 13, 2018 8:28 pm ha ha ha ha not starting a thread till it is properly started.....
