Thanks, I love my floor plan. It's being built now, at frame stage. Build started from 23/9/2016, so its progressing pretty quickly so far. Should take between 5-6months to be completed.

Sorry Dawn, we won't be going there till next Friday. We have booked in for blinds measure and concreting quote. Heard from sis that driveway was completed. Our PCI is on 17/11. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 184Oct 29, 2016 1:10 pm No worries ^^; I've got a week off work so hoping to do some house relating shopping and get some quotes. Ooh, let us know how your quotes go. Eeee, your so close now!! I'm so ready for my house to be done, there is just no room left where I am now. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 185Oct 30, 2016 3:54 pm I'm very torn! I love everything from this place called Full House furniture. Everything!!! I was speaking with the store owner today, and he was extremely helpful, he helped me work out what size furniture would suit my house based on my plans. ![]() I love their stuff, but it is certainly expensive furniture.. (for good reason). I can't decide if I should just get everything from them, or if I should look elsewhere. Pros: Australia Made Custom (so can have whatever I want) Flexible Discount if I buy a lot Can be stored until my house is ready Can buy piece by piece, and they will always be able to match what I already bought Cons: Expensive So can't decide what to do. I'd be buying the couch, TV unit, coffee tables, dining table & chairs, hall table, casual chairs.. plus they have a great range of prints, accessories and occasional furniture which I'd probably buy too. They also might be able to assist with a custom made bed & side tables. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 187Oct 30, 2016 6:25 pm That's true ^^; I won't be doing anything till Xmas. I'm curious what other people would do, would you/will you be buying floor pieces or would you pay for custom? So, say I could get a 2 + 3 seater from Focus on Furniture for about $1699, I'm looking at a 2.5 seater for about $1999. The TV unit I'm interested in is about $2-3k... or do I just go buy one for $600. XD Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 188Oct 30, 2016 6:44 pm For me I think it's about budget too. It's not going to be my forever home, more so an entry level home. So I would probably invest in a few good pieces to last a long time. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 190Oct 30, 2016 6:47 pm If you are on a budget they suggest to choose a good quality statement piece like a sofa/dining table that you really love and won't want to update in a hurry. Your new sofa will still look just as amazing with a nice ikea/focus on TV unit. Remember this is your first home and what suits this house may not be right for the next one. Occasional furniture, TV units etc can look dated pretty quickly. It really depends on your budget and the look you are trying to achieve. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 191Oct 31, 2016 12:11 pm What furniture you put in your home is totally your choice. What does a $3k TVs unit look like? But roughly that colour. ![]() *Sigh* I'm finding this whole house thing hard. I just can't wait till its done. ![]() Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 193Oct 31, 2016 2:46 pm Hmmm just be careful. They are nice but when I think of $3k I think that could be the landscaping lol the costs really mount up once you move in for everything that needs doing. I would be waiting on expensive pieces until moved in as you may change your mind. Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81011 Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 194Nov 01, 2016 8:10 am I love the 1st buffet table. The pictures that you have shown are made from solid wood and they are extremely heavy. I know the company that makes them directly . Pm me if you want their contact. It might save you some $$$. If you can afford $3k for 1 furniture, why not? However, I would suggest that wait till your plaster boards are all done up to see the actual size. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 195Nov 01, 2016 3:23 pm ![]() I'm certainly not rushing into anything. I think I will get a quote on all the pieces I want and see what the total is, then I can slowly buy pieces over the next 2 years, and either go without or go with cheaper options. Landscaping, blinds, etc will definitely have to come first. Just got a notice to fence from my neighbour, so have to sort that out this week. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! With fence, you don't to commit now if you have other priorities.. Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 197Nov 01, 2016 5:24 pm Yes better to pay fencing quickly, especially if your neighbours homes will be ready before yours. Our neighbours were really great paying up so fence could get done quickly, pretty much when we first moved in. Everything we wanted done came to $14k once we moved in, it adds up so quickly but it did cover a lot of things. The furniture pieces you picked out do look beautiful i have to say. (Photos) 198Nov 01, 2016 6:35 pm The neighbors on the left have already moved in (about 2-3 weeks ago I think). That's the fencing notice I've received. I'm a bit confused on fencing, I thought they had to send 3 quotes.. but I don't really mind, the price seems very good and I'm just glad not to have to organize it. I do need to call the fencing company who sent me the notice though as it had a lot of terms in it and I'm so confused. Hopefully I can just pay them over the phone or something. Already let my builder know to expect fencers on site, though I also need to find out when this will happen. I don't mind the boundary fences going up quick, as I don't want to move in before they are done. That's pretty good Charley. Did that include any furnishings? Or just the major things like fencing, landscaping, etc? I love the furniture, but I think I will just have to balance what I want with what I can afford, and work towards it slowly ![]() Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 199Nov 01, 2016 7:52 pm No they dont have to send 3 quotes, but i guess you do have the rignt to get your own quotes if you dont agree. We only supplied one quote and they agreed. Just give them a call and they will tell you how to pay. Will be much better for you to have fences before moving in especially with your animals. No my pricing didnt include furniture, just all the other stuff, landscaping, concreting, gates, security etc. Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81011 Re: {dawn} Custom 3bdr /16sq home - Frame is up! (Photos) 200Nov 01, 2016 8:27 pm Ah, okay, everyone keeps telling me about 3 quotes. XD I'm happy with the quote, just not the payment terms which says cash on completion only. So I just need to call the fencer and confirm some details tomorrow. Exactly, I really want all the boundary fences in before I move in, I'd also really like the front fence and side gates done before I move in too, or very soon after. Your land was a bit bigger than mine, so hopefully my costs are a little less, but that's still within budget at least. ![]() I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 16728 ![]() I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this?
