Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 181Aug 27, 2015 1:31 pm VJH, I love your enthusiasm but reality is this has been a painful process and builders can't shift responsibility. They seem quiet inexperienced and haven't been able finalise variations plans etc in the 1.5 years they had. I still know of people in greenvale whose plans are still not final. As I said frames don't take long ... The real work is after frames. In 2 months brickwork has hardly moved. They have bricked maybe 10 houses so who knows how long it's going to be. Still massive soil dumps on greenvale. Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 182Aug 28, 2015 8:25 pm We received our construction notice today, so exciting times ahead. We are heading out to the new display home at Jordan Springs tomorrow, to see the Palm Cove 14 (we are building the Palm Cove 13, so only slightly smaller) can't wait to see it finished and furnished. Also I was advised today that the homes that were started first (Kensington Park) will be handed over to the owners next month. So from observation it took approx 3 months to build those? Please correct me if that's wrong, but I think slabs went down around mid June for them? Our build with Eden Brae Homes in 2011 took six months for a double storey home, admittedly I pushed them the whole way at the end of the build so we actually got our keys on December 22 that year, right before they closed down for a month over Christmas/New Years. Can't wait to see our home taking shape Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 183Aug 29, 2015 12:24 am Hi bitsnpieces, great news!!! Are you in Greenvale or locosi? We are in greenvale and received our construction notice at the start of the month but unfortunately nothing has happened so far for us. Hopefully soon now. Locosi first lot started mid June so if they can deliver then that's really quick. I did notice some single story are almost done and had their external light fitting etc already installed so by the look of things they shd be almost there... My concern is the brickwork is taking awfully long. It could be an industry issue not specific to bellriver as there is some shortage of bricklayers in NSW. It was even in the news the other day. Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 184Aug 29, 2015 12:52 am Hi Mayjong, We are Locosi side (Sparrow Street) Fingers crossed for you, I saw quite a few slabs and frames had gone up in Greenvale when I went by earlier this week. Hopefully we are all underway soon. Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 185Aug 31, 2015 6:16 pm I took a drive by this afternoon and thankfully our retaining wall is half way back up again (after being taken down last week). The single levels on Kensington Park Road now have the blinds in the windows, looks like they will be getting handover in September, lucky them, hope all our builds are as quick. Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 187Sep 02, 2015 2:29 pm just wanted to say a huge thanks to Bell River and the building supervisor. They've been so patient with me with all the questions I've thrown their way. And I noticed that my house has been worked on for seven days a week over the past couple of weeks. Things are really progressing fast now and it's very exciting. Thank you so much for everything it way exceeds my expectations. Thank you Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 188Sep 09, 2015 11:37 am Finally work on our property in Greenvale has started... Fingers crossed they can get some more bricklayers... Bricks seem to be holding up the completion of homes in locosi., Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 189Sep 09, 2015 5:12 pm that's great news. I hope it moves quickly for you Yes, bricks must be giving the team a nightmare. Any young people looking for a new trade???!! At least there is progress with brick works the last couple of days past that hurdle and things seem to be flying fast Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 191Sep 17, 2015 3:19 pm hi Mayjong That's super exciting I trust everything goes well for you and you love the experience. I went inside my house today. It was an incredible feeling. Everyone is doing such an amazing job. It's clear the supervisor is working really hard and cares about the quality of the product he is managing. I just can't get over how incredible it feels and how exciting to imagine what things are going to be like and to see it at the stage it is now. My first home and it's like a dream. I'm over the moon! The place is beautiful and they are doing an amazing job. I'm so happy that there are no words for it Everything on site is so busy. So much happening across the development I don't know how they are managing to keep up with it all! Things are totally happening everywhere you look. Thank you everyone for totally awesome job!! And I'm beyond excited and happy Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 192Sep 17, 2015 6:08 pm Hello All, Hope everyone's progressing with the build. Our lower storey frame is done waiting for the upper one. We r at locosi.Does anyone can give rough idea abt how much time till we get the house considering there will be no work in dec-Jan period?? Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 193Sep 18, 2015 12:04 am Hi Rit, Every house is different and you actually might b in before Xmas if you are lucky. Unfortunately, the construction has been really slow across the two sites... I think to a large extent it's due to bellriver not being able to secure enough bricklayers and in some cases delays in the design phase... Looks like bricks on your ground level are already done, so if they can get the brickwork out of the way soon, then u shd be in quick... Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 195Sep 18, 2015 8:55 am hi MJ Totally not. Anything wrong with someone being excited and happy? I've been waiting a long time for my home and I never before that imagined I would have a home of my own. So I'm letting myself experience the excitement. Plus every bit of the appreciation is genuine - I won't list all that Bell River and the supervisor have done for me but my experience involves consideration that there is no way I would get with any other package builder I have looked into - things that totally exceed their contract commitments to me. Along this two year journey I have learnt a lot - it's been frustrating, disappointing and stressful at times. Now is my chance to be excited and yesterday inside my house and seeing everything happening around me, so busy, some houses nearly ready, some having complete frames that weren't there two days before, so much productivity. I was jumping with excitement. I think Bell River deserves appreciation and so I am expressing it. It's a thrill and I'm having fun sharing and being part of that so, thanks everyone for putting up with me! But I hope you're having as exciting time with anticipation too. Yay for my first home! It's incredible Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 196Sep 18, 2015 9:19 am I guess something you need to understand about me, MJ, is that I push people to the max - I give a lot but I expect a lot. If people can cope with me, and Bell River has responded so well, I'm definitely impressed Re: Who is building with Bell River Homes in Schofields NSW? 198Sep 18, 2015 11:02 am hi Rit
Waiting for bricks felt slow for me, too. I'm moving past that and things have been progressing really well - only a couple of days here or there when I couldn't see the progress, but stuff could have been happening behind the scenes. Friends have told me the internals took the longest on their house (different builder) - but looking at Kensington it doesn't look like it to me. Things seem well organised and fast after the second phase. I wish you speedy progress. Things can change fast - one day it looks like I'm months away, the next day I'm jumping up and down ready to pack and move! The first houses started three months ago and are close to completion - it's just under three months until Christmas - it's only guess work what can be achieved in this time, but a lot is going to happen before then We bought land in Tallawong Schofields NSW size 30m X 12.5m and planning to get double story house build around 350 sqm. We are thinking about having premium inclusions… 0 4730 No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6594 Hi all, We are considering Enigma 46 from Mojo Homes in Gables, NSW.
