Built the Bermuda with Porter Davis Re: Building Bermuda 23 with Porter Davis 185Feb 12, 2015 5:28 pm So far so good. Although there are quite a lot of errors picked up by my inspector esp during the frame stage, all of them have been rectified (Credit to my SS). Good luck to your built journey. I hope my blog will give you a good indication of what you can expect during your building process. And please don't forget to share yours as well. Re: Building Bermuda 23 with Porter Davis 187Jan 02, 2020 10:24 am After several years moving into our house finally we got time to think about landscaping our walk path on the side. As shown in previous pictures the neighbouring land is higher than our block. This required a retaining wall. I added a retaining wall leaving little bit of space for a small garden bed. Afterwards added pavers to our pathway. After watching few videos online I was able to do it myself. Perhaps not the best paving job but I'm still happy with the way they look. Hey hash_nanay - Did you pay extra to have PD do the front & back landscaping and front-driveway? Or you used some local contractors after PD handed over the house to you, to get it done cheaper (this is what I am hearing many are doing)? Which area of Melbourne was your house build in? Looking to use PD to build a 1-storey in the Donnybrook (VIC 3064) area. Did you use an IBI (independent building inspector) like Housespect or New Home Inspections or someone like below just to make sure PD did everything they said they would? We built our house in 2014 in Berwick and at the time there was a value pack we did opt in which included landscaping front garden among many other things. I'm not sure if this value pack still being offered or not though. Regarding IBI, we did go with NHI for frame and final inspection prior to handover for peace of mind. We didn't have any major issues during our build with Porter Davis and they did a very good job. We also had to report few issues post handover within first 12 months and they did attend to all of them without a fuss. Overall we are very happy with their service. Re: Building Bermuda 23 with Porter Davis 192Jan 02, 2020 6:18 pm SaveH2OIt looks suitable for espaliering fruit. Nice idea. But the width of the garden bed is 180mm. Given pavers are laid on sand I'm reluctant to plant anything with strong roots. I do want to grow a hedge for privacy but couldn't find anything that grow tall enough but not have massive root growth. Re: Building Bermuda 23 with Porter Davis 193Jan 02, 2020 6:27 pm You can get minature fruit trees but yeah, 180 mm could be a tad ambitious. How about a vertical vege garden? Home gardens are trending along with two master bedrooms etc. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using siphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper. I'm looking for something with less maintenance Perhaps my best option is to go with clumping Bamboo as they are tall enough to provide privacy, less maintenance, no massive root growth. Is anyone building in vineyard estate with eight homes. Appreciate your comments. 0 93770 Hi paul smith, Did you go ahead with Dezire Homes? I am in the market now and was looking for some feedback?
